(Legitimate) Author's Note: My Immortal is claimed to be the worst fanfiction ever written. It's also probably the funniest thing that I've ever read, with some... highly creative original ideas that I feel would be a shame to completely get rid of. So if you've come here expecting all of Tara's work's shortcomings to be addressed, I'm sorry to disappoint, but all the "goff" stuff is staying in. Harry is still Vampire Potter, Hermione is still B'loody Mary Smith, Ebony still sadly exists. To me a version of My Immortal written completely seriously - as in, with real and noticeable effort put in - with all the bizarre changes and plot elements is hilarious. I don't claim to be a good writer - in fact, I can be quite shit at times - so this might really such

It can't suck harder than the original My Immortal , though, so there's at least that.

Anyway, you've been warned

Though I'm not exactly dressed for the weather in my leather mini skirt, the feeling of sleet hitting my bare arms is a welcome one, if it suggested the lack of sunlight. While this sort of weather wasn't uncommon for Hogwarts - a school of magic in Scotland, which gets around 200 days of rain every year - it's nice to not have to carry a sunshade out to protect myself. It's not exactly common for non-human wizards and witches to attend Hogwarts, as the ban against other supernatural creatures has only been lifted around 10 years ago, which is why I don't always feel comfortable carrying around something that clearly signals me as a vampire. People - well, preps - end up staring at me.

Like they're doing now.

Hogwarts is small, but even if it wasn't, it's not surprising that I'm easily recognizable by these people. I've been told many times that I look Amy Lee, though most of these Hogwarts preps and posers wouldn't know her. My corset and combat boots - black, of course - point me out as a goth, though the same could be said for most people in Slytherin. They know exactly who I am from my pale skin and ice blue eyes, yes, but the biggest giveaway is my waist-length, purple-streaked and red-tipped black hair that also gives me the first of my many names - Ebony.

Smirking, I put up my middle fingers at the swarm of preps staring at me, which sends them into disapproving whispers. Feeling triumphant after all, I continue my way to the Slytherin common room - the weather isn't kind to my white foundation and black eyeliner, and I can't walk around looking like a poser. Walking through the long halls of Hogwarts still fascinates me after 7 years of learning here, and the torchlight makes the whole place much less preppy. Descending down the staircase to the Slytherin common room, I spot my friends Willow and B'loody Mary spread out on a couch. When she sees me, B'loody Mary gestures for me to go to the girls dorm, and they get up and start heading there

Before I can wave to her, my train of thought is interrupted by someone else calling out my name from behind me. I turn to the sound to see a boy, not as pale as me with blond-almost-white hair.

He comes down to the step I'm standing on. There's not much room for the both of us to be standing without touching - not that I mind touching him. Though we're in the same house and I really liked him a very long time ago, it hits me that we've never actually talked before. "W-What's up, Draco?"

His stance stiffens - he must have realised how close we're standing."Nothing," he said shyly, "How're-"

"Ebony!" Willow yells for me across the Common Room, and I snap back to reality. "Girl, are you deaf? Get over here!"

Smiling apologetically at Draco, I quickly run down the rest of the steps and join her and B'loody Mary in front of the dorm. I look over my shoulder as I walk in, seeing a somewhat dejected looking Draco Malfoy I feel bad about leaving behind.
