AT THE CHOIR ROOM THE NEXT DAY
“Oh hey, Excited for the first meeting?” Blaine said as he patted his gelled hair while checking himself in the mirror. ‘”You look tired… here, sit” He pushed the chair beside him forward.
“I got a message…” Nick said as she took the chair, sat and calmed herself. “…. ‘Meeting @ 5’ and its 5:15, I thought I’m going to be late so I ran. My last class is from the other side of the building”
Blaine laughed. “New Direction time is always an hour late. That’s how they think they make a grand entrance… also when anyone arrives, it’s an S.O.P that when somebody wears something new… you have to appreciate it however hideous it looks.”
Nick laughed obviously enjoying the conversation. “Who and what do I usually look for?”
“Hmm… let’s see, there’s Mercedes with her blings. All of it reads ‘DIVA’ but everyday it comes in different fonts and glitzes so you have to take note of that, but if she is wearing something she had already worn, don’t say anything. Quinn’s dresses, but not every single day or she’ll think you’re up to something. Rachel loves socks, Brittany and the angles of her ponytail…..”
They’re talking and she’s sitting way too close to him. I gotta do something. “Hey!”
Nick and Blaine stopped talking and looked at him. Nick looked down, avoiding meeting his eyes while brushing her bangs behind her ear looking satisfied… that smile!
“Hey Kurt!” Blaine said as he walked near and hugged him. Kurt hugged back, cupped his hands around Blaine’s face and tried to kiss him but Blaine broke away, kept his arm behind Kurt’s lower back.
“What was that?” Kurt asked on impulse, he wasn’t supposed to say that out loud.
“Kurt…” Blaine said almost in a whisper, keeping what he’s saying from Nick who’s obviously trying to act as if she hasn’t heard anything. “…Nick’s here.”
“So? That’s what we normally do…” Kurt reminded. He saw Nick smiled. Did she think her presence can change what is used to? He's not backing down.. “Besides, I don’t think Nick minds. You don’t mind, do you?” Watch me you chipmunk.
“No, no. Please carry on. Don’t think I’m here.”
“See? Come on Blaine, it’s not like we’re making out or…”
“Kurt!” He isn’t happy. “It’s not appropriate. We talked about this.” Blaine added trying to suppress his anger.
“What is not appropriate? Is it not appropriate to want to be intimate with your boyfriend?” He is losing his temper too. He saw Nick moved sideways and pretended to read messages from her phone which didn’t even ding.
Blaine pulled Kurt towards the piano away from where Nick sat. This is not good.
“What’s the matter? This is a petty thing to fuss about. We agreed not to talk and do anything out of the ordinary when there are people around, you were the one who even suggested this.”
“I... I… wanted to do what we used to when we see each other, like how it is when nobody’s here yet.”
“But there’s somebody here and now she might be thinking we are fighting because of her.” Blaine said. Then sighed, he held and caressed Kurt’s hands and looked at him. “I’d do anything for you, whatever that makes you happy. I’ll tickle and hug and kiss you every time I get the chance to. I’ll do all those not just because you want it but because I want and need it for myself too. Okay? You not need to ask.”
