I walked back in the city, finding her. Her. I know she's somewhere in this city. Maybe if I look in places where we were together before. Maybe she'll be there. I went to every grocery store, restaurant, clothing stores, parks, amusement parks, sigh.
I guess the last place I'll have to look is the old play ground I was with her. I still remember that time. The time when someone took a picture of her in her mermaid tail and posted on the internet.
What if she's not there?
What if we're actually not soulmates?
~
I went to the old play ground, hoping to see her there. If she's not there, then I'm just gonna forget about her. As I got there, there was no one there. I guess we weren't meant to be. I turned around and didn't look back.
"Um." A girl's voiced called me. "Excuse me."
I looked back and saw her, my eyes widened.
"Have we met before?" She asked.
It has been 3 years, right?
Where have you been?
I missed you.
You seemed like you don't know me anymore.
What happened to you?
Were we meant to be?
"Yeah, I think so." I said.
"You were that guy who hugged me the other day."
Argh, "Sorry, I think I've mistakenly thought you were someone else. Someone I once knew."
"It's okay. You look like someone I once knew too."
Huh?
So, do some of her memories still remain?
"I'm Irene." She lifts her hand out and smiles.
"Mark." I held her hand and we shook hands.
It is you.
