"Fuck!" I yell as some asshole jock trips me in the hallway. It was another one of those days. Any way I'm Devin but everyone calls me Ghost. I'm 17 and I play bass guitar for a band my friends and I are starting called Motionless in White. As you can tell from earlier I have it pretty hard. Apparently wearing makeup and black makes you a community punching bag. Eh whatever back to the story.

"Holy shit are you okay?" a soft voice comes up from behind me. "Yeah I'm fine" I get up picking up my books.

I peek up through my hair and see a girl. "I'm Carolyn" she says shyly "I'm Ghost" I almost whisper. I'm speechless.

I stop to take a good look at her and she is stunning. She has the same style as I do. She has dark hair, hazel eyes, and pale skin. She has a plain black jacket on with the hood up and black skinny jeans with black and white converse. She was beautiful almost in a familiar way...she looks just like Aurelia my love in my past life.

She takes off her hood and speaks up. "Ghost is a really cool name and I love your style" she says while trying to hide her blush. "Thank you, I love yours too" I smile looking down feeling my cheeks get warm. She giggles before mentioning "Today is my first day here, I don't know anyone here, do you mind if I hang out with you?"

"No not at all" I smile at her. Finally someone I can be friends with at this hellhole. Chris and the rest of the band go to a different school so I'm stuck here alone.

~Carolyn's Point of View~

I was so worried this morning about my first day at school. I was shaking walking into the school. I saw this guy who had the same style as me get tripped. Knowing the feeling I walked up to him nervously. He was breathtaking. I made friends with him and he was showing me to my first class. I know it's rude but I kept looking up and staring at him. He's so beautiful. He looks familiar but I've never met him before. He stops.

"And here we are" he motions towards my first period door. "Thank you" I whisper shyly. "See you at lunch" he smiles and gives me a quick hug.

-skipping to lunch-

~Ghost's Point of View~

I see Carolyn walk into the cafeteria.  "Hey there" I greet her. "Hey" she smiles. "Are you hungry?" I ask "Not really" "Alright I'm not either; there's a spot I go to outside during lunch, do you want to come?" "Sure" I take her outside where it's cool and slightly windy and sit by a tree.

She smiles and sits down next to me. "So what brought you to wonderful Scranton, Pennsylvania?" I say in a dramatic sarcastic tone. She giggles "Well I had enough at home and came to live in an apartment here far away from where I'm from"

"Where are you from?"  "A small town in Texas" she starts to drift off in thought. She looks like she's about to cry. "Hey its alright" I say while pulling her into a hug. I quote Perks of  Being a Wallflower "We don't have the power to choose where we come from but we can still choose where we go from there" She laughs "That's one of my favorite movies"

"Hey you should come over after school today" "Really" she smiles. "Yeah" I chuckle "I'm in a band and we share a house so warning it gets crazy" She laughs "I love crazy! And sure, it gets boring living by myself"

The lunch bell rings. "Well looks like we have to go back, I'll see you after school here" "Mkay thank you" she looks up and smiles. I smile back and hug her while we make our way back up.
