"I'm a father?" JD asked. He was sort of freaking out, pacing around the room and holding his head. He wasn't surprised by this because him and Veronica hardly used protection. But he was a little shocked that it actually happened to them, they were parents.

"There's no one else who it could be." Veronica replied, chuckling awkwardly.

"Jesus Christ." He mumbled, running a hand through his hair. "I mean she's a cute kid but I didn't know that she was my kid." He sat beside Veronica on the bed. "Tell me about her."

"She's a really sweet little girl, she has this big heart. I mean she's really the best." Veronica told him. "She's the light of my life." She smiled.

"You're holding something back." JD observed. "Tell me," He said softly.

"Well, Mackenzie was why I was there today." Veronica began.

"Why?" JD asked.

"She was diagnosed with autism today." Veronica answered.

"Wait what?" JD asked.

"She has autism. And I've kind of always known she was different but now, we know why." Veronica explained. The two sat in silence for a while, before JD grabbed Veronica's hand.

"It's okay, you know that?" He said to her.

"How do you know that?" Veronica asked.

"To be honest with you, I don't. But, if you so want, I'll be here for you. And Mackenzie." JD told Veronica, who's eyes filled up with tears.

"You can't mean that." Veronica shook her head, shocked that anyone would sign up to be with her and Mackenzie. "You don't mean that."

"I do." He laughed at the fact Veronica didn't believe him, her heart welling up at the pure sound that she missed so much over the years.

"No, you don't. Do you have any idea how hard it is?" Veronica asked him.

"Enlighten me." JD replied.

"Everything is a problem with Mackenzie. Some days she's fine. And then other days, her clothes are weird and if there's any loud noises she screams. She melts down and freaks out. She is a hard kid to parent." Veronica cried.

"But I want to parent her." JD said. "Veronica, I love you. I have never stopped loving you. I want to love our daughter. I don't care if she has this thing, she is my daughter. And I want to be in her life."

"You can stay tonight and tomorrow. If you want to stay tomorrow, we can talk about it then." Veronica compromised.

"Deal." JD smiled. He knew he had won.
