Veronica, JD and Mackenzie went to the police station after breakfast. They were greeted by the male detective, Alex, as soon as they came in.
"Mr. Dean, Ms. Sawyer." He said.
"It's been a month and we haven't heard from you." JD said.
"Well, we've come to the conclusion that this isn't a real rape." Alex said.
"Why the fuck not?" JD asked.
"In 1989, Ms. Sawyer, you accused two star athletes of Westerburg High School of rape." Alex explained. "We think that you both convinced your daughter to tell this story for attention."
"Are you serious?" Veronica asked, shocked that the police were so convinced of this.
"We spoke to the children who allegedly attacked your daughter. They all told the same story, a story different from your daughter's." Alex continued.
"So my daughter, who was very obviously attacked, is making it up because three kids told the same story?" JD asked.
"They were at the house of the siblings when your daughter was attacked. They weren't there." Alex said. "We do believe Mackenzie was attacked, and maybe if she tells the truth, we can catch who attacked her."
"Fuck you." JD said. "We're leaving." He told Veronica and Mackenzie. They got in the car and Mackenzie started to cry.
"I wasn't lying." She cried as both her parents turned to face her.
"We know, Kenzie." Veronica said.
"And you know what?" JD said. "Your mom and I are going to take care of this." He promised her.
"Really?" Mackenzie asked.
"Really. We're gonna put you in a different school and you'll never see these kids again." He told her, not talking about what he was actually going to do.
"Okay," Mackenzie sniffled. JD smiled at her, then at Veronica before turning around and taking them home.
That Night
Mackenzie was asleep again. Veronica and JD sat at the kitchen table. "How are we going to do this?" Veronica asked.
"I'm going to fuck with the car, cut some wires and shit, so that once they start driving it just blows up." JD said.
"And we won't get caught?" Veronica asked.
"No. And if we do, I'm going to take full blame. You'd stay with Mackenzie." JD reassured her. "Are you sure about this?" He asked.
"No, but what other choice do we have? That kid will never get time for what he did to her unless we do something." Veronica answered. "And the parents are covering up what he did, they deserve to die for that."
"Okay," JD replied.
"What about the other girl?" Veronica asked.
"A fire's gonna take the whole house to the ground." JD said.
"And you're sure we won't get caught?" Veronica asked, looking innocently at him.
"I'm sure. Like I said, if we do get caught, I'll say I manipulated you into doing it. I'll take full blame so you can stay with Mackenzie. But we won't get caught anyways." JD promised.
"I love you." Veronica told him.
"I love you too, Veronica." JD replied, kissing her sweetly. "Everything's going to be just fine."
