Keefe had stuck twelve gulons in that room.

Twelve.

They ran out all at once, screeching? No, howling. They threw their heads up towards the ceiling. It almost looked like a pack of wolves howling at the moon. It didn't take much to realize they were calling the other gulons.

From every possible direction, gulons appeared. Galloping towards their pack. They looked almost happy to be reunited. Until Dame Alina screeched. It was an awful sound and it it upset the gulons even more. This caused more howling and growling, all gulons attention was on the screeching women.

They took one look at Alina and charged.

But all you could think about was Keefe.

They were coming straight for him and Alina. He didn't move a muscle. Dame Alina, on the other hand, was screaming over and over as if that would help the situation. A few gulons had reached her, teeth bared and claws out. They were harmless, in fact, they just wanted to protect the others. They only acted this way to scare predators away.

There was nothing you can do for Keefe, you were too far. That didn't stop you from attempting to run to rescue him. You kept looking at him trying to signal to him to get the heck out of there! Wasn't he worried that he'd be caught? It was about to smell awful over there.

Almost as if the gears started turning in his head, a burst of light appeared where he was as he leaped away. Not before giving Dame Alina finger guns. You quickly did the same. Well, not the finger guns part. You'll let Keefe do that. You relaxed letting the warmth swell over you and relax you as you were carried away.

As soon as you appeared at Havenfield, Keefe engulfed you in a hug. You could feel his heart pounding in his chest. His face was sweaty and filled with worry. He pulled you tight against him, as if he was trying to protect you.

"I was so scared for you. I'm sorry." He whispered softly. The sound of his voice filled your ears relaxing you instantly. He let go of you and sank to the ground, laughing.

"I cannot believe I did that!" He looked at you, grinning. "We did that." He corrected. You sat down on the ground next to him, letting the grass poke at your skin. "We make a fantastic team, you know."

All you could do was smiled and nod. You were at a complete lost for words. You, yourself couldn't believe you did that. And managed to get away with it too. It was so unlike you to even consider doing something like that. You pretended to be interested the grass, twirling it between your fingers.

"I want you to be my official partner." He reached over to brush a piece of hair that was out of place. The touch was gentle, caring. His voice got soft, thick with worry, "Do you hate me?"

His words filled you with shock. Did he really think that? "Of course not." You shrugged and looked him in the eye. "I didn't know what to think of you, that's all." The truth was you were more annoyed with him then anything. He gave off the impression that he thought he could accomplish anything. Now it occurred to you his confidence may be fake.

Then you looked at him, like really looked at him. His hair looked golden in the sunlight, his eyes were full of concern. He had a few freckles dotted on the bridge of his nose. His eyelashes were very light, almost invisible yet they stood out, making his ice appear bluer. As if that was possible. You really wanted to run your hands through his hair, just to feel it.

"Friends?" He grinned.

"Friends."

Maybe Keefe Sencen was a pretty boy after all.
