Chapter seven:
*Max
I was beyond angry at Harry for hurting Wendy like that, he deserved to be punished, and I thought I had found a way to pay him back too; not in a bad way, but in a way that would show him she didn’t need him to be happy. A couple of days after their break up, Harry had told me he was going to this fancy restaurant with someone, whose name he didn’t mention, and I thought if maybe he saw Wendy there with someone too, it would show him she had moved on. Plus, I wanted to make Wendy feel good by treating her to a nice evening, and my plan seemed perfect for that.
“Wendy! Hey, have you got plans tonight?” I said into the phone when Wendy answered it, eager and excited with my plan.
“No…” She trailed off, sounding a bit confused.
“Do you have a nice dress?” I asked, tapping my fingers into the table I sat next to.
“Yeah, why? Max, are you…asking me out?” She questioned rather startled in her voice.
“You can say that, yeah, sort of. We’re going to pay back Harry for cheating on you,” I said with a bit of deviousness.
“Okay, interesting, and how are we going to do that?” She replied, much more relaxed, but still a bit confused.
“We’re going to show him that you don’t need him!” I exclaimed, confident in my plan.
“Okay, great, but how?”
“Doll yourself up all fancy tonight, say around…six o’clock and I’ll pick you up,” I answered. And with that, we hung up; my plan was just starting to unfold.
Later that day I started getting ready. Out of Harry’s closet I picked out, a striped blue tie, a pair of black shiny shoes, a black colored suit jacket, and a creamy white button down shirt. I took his spare sports car to arrive in, I was sure he wouldn’t mind since he said I could use it in case I needed to go somewhere.
I pulled into the driveway of Wendy’s house, I started to blow the horn, but I soon saw her exiting the house. Immediately, after getting my eyes full at how beautiful she looked, my breath was literally taken from me. She wore a faded red V neck dress with thick straps; it hugged her body snugly, revealing every wonderful curve she had; extra curly hair, a little bit of dark eye-shadow and lip gloss, and she was a complete knock-out to say the least.
She opened the door and got into the car. “You look…incredible, Wendy,” I muttered, restraining myself from drooling in my lust.
“Isn’t this Harry’s car?” She asked, changing the subject as I drove away after shifting the gear into drive. I nodded in reply; barely able to drive over how pretty she looked. “Won’t he mind?” She added with a small laugh, but I wasn’t very focused on that at the time.
“Shouldn’t,” I answered shortly.
“Max, is something bothering you?” She questioned sounding rather concerned. I turned my head, looking her in both wonderfully golden colored eyes and answered,
“No, no, you just…wow, you look pretty.” My eyes started roaming her and I felt myself reach a far daze, while she looked at me as if I was crazy.
“Max, stoplight!” She yelled, pointing her finger ahead.
SCREEETCH!
Instantly, I slammed the brakes, causing the car to come to a rough halt. “Gosh, you scared me, Max.” Wendy hissed as she gave me a dirty look; I brushed it off with a chuckled and continued to wait for the light to turn green.
