While walking to my locker with a lowered stance, I noticed Oliver drumming his fingers on the stack of binders he held while he waited for me. "Hey, Jack," he jumped upwards, "How'd it go wit-"
"I don't want to talk about it," all the tension left his muscles. He seemed more gentle than before. He hugged me, with his books pressing against me.
Closing his eyes, he said, "Oh, man, I'm so sorry. Do you think you'll end up going with anyone else?"
"There's nobody else to ask, is there?"
"Well, I know someone who'd probably say yes."
"What, really?" My features lit up, which made him back away awkwardly. He scrunched his nose, and spoke in a disheveled manner,
"Wait, he already... he already has a girlfriend. Sorry, Jack,"
I dropped my books and slammed my fists against my locker.
"Jack!!" he grabbed my wrists and pulled them away from the metal. "Please be calm!! You've got to be!! Don't ever hurt yourself like that, do you know what I'd do without you?"
I pulled myself away from him, and grabbed my books off the floor.
Turning around, I said, "Let's just go to Latin,"
"Jack, I love you..." This made me gag,
"Be quiet Oliver!!" Storming ahead of him, I made my way to second period right before he did.
