Chapter I

My name is Paisley , and trust me I know it is a strange name, but I am not a normal person no matter how hard I try to be. Today is the 20th of December, a Wednesday in 2017 and the time is 12:30 pm. I am headed out to get some lunch for myself and a friend. I walk into the big cafe filled with many people and the workers greet me as they always do, and I order our usual orders. I walk out of the cafe, down the street and past tons of people to get back to my friend. We eat at our work and talk about the things we can complain about. Things like customers and managers. My friends name is Taylor, her hair is short and brown, her eyes are hazel and they always seem to sparkle with happiness. I am just about the opposite of Taylor. My hair is long and black, my eyes are just dull and brown. It's almost like a cheesy movie where the opposites become best friends. We might not have a lot in common but we live in the same apartment and always have each others back.

After work I say my goodbye to Taylor and start to walk home while she heads to pick up some grocery's. We live in the great and amazing New York City, so I don't see a reason to own a car. I get into my apartment building and go up the elevator to my room. It's cold and lonely in the elevator. I'm all alone here, my parents want nothing to do with me, they just left. Gone, missing still. The government told me they were undercover FBI agents and some gang was after them so they left, leaving me behind too. I don't have any siblings or uncles or aunts my parents were close with, so truly I was alone. I don't remember much from my childhood, just being in the foster care system when I turned 15 and then getting kicked out at eighteen. My parents never seemed like  they would be ones to run away, we were happy until then. I get up to the top where my apartment is and walk down the long green and white hallways. I get to my room but something stops me before I go inside the empty room. I hear the microwave cooking something. There is no way I would have left the microwave on for 8 hours while I was at work.  I turn the key slowly trying not to make too much sound, which I know is impossible even though I try. The one thing that made sense about my parents being FBI agents was all the training and self defense classes they put me through. I open the door slowly letting the light inside of the dark apartment. I scan the room and see nothing at first, but then I notice there's a man. He's sitting at my dining room table just watching me closely.

I walk in and close the door behind me, I look at him and say "Who are you? What do you want?" He just looks at me, surprised almost. I notice he has a metal arm with a red star on the shoulder. "You need to come with me" he says in a low and calm voice. I look at him in confusion, "Why?" I ask him. He walks up to me, but I stand my ground. If I tell you I'm not scared, then that would be a big lie. "It's better not to ask questions" he replies to me, I let my eyes break away from his and I began to walk to the kitchen. He stops me by grabbing my arm, It's not a painful grasp but a careful one. I look back at him and say "I have to turn off the microwave." He looks confused, almost like this wasn't going how he planned it to. I break free of his grasp and walk over to the kitchen thinking of a way to get out of here. I get over to the microwave and turned it off, I slowly reach behind the microwave unplugging it, then as hard as I can, I throw it at the man. The best option that ran through my mind, and I run out the door of my apartment.

My body is racing, my head is pounding and my fingers are tingling. I bust the door open to the stairs and run down them as fast as my legs can take me. I feel my body began to attack itself, shutting itself down. "No, no. Not now." I say to myself as I begin to skip steps. I know that I need to get away from this man so I continue to run down the stairs as fast as I can, but I know i'm not fast enough. It feels like the steps multiply as I run down them. I mentally prepare myself and I begin to jump down a flight of stairs. I feel free in these few seconds as my feet leave the concrete stairs, but then I feel a cold object wrap around my waist stopping me. He... he caught me in mid air. He harshly turns my body around so that I am face to face with the man. Body to body with the man, I feel his chest rise and fall on my own and fear rises in mind. His hair is a medium long brown and there is black stuff around his bright blue eyes. His mussel hides most of what he says but I can make it out. "Hydra says you're important." He says before he throws my head against a brick wall, and just like that I'm gone from my little world.

I am re-writing the story to make it better! Let me know what you all think of the changes i'm making!
