It was Saturday night. The Titans were about to return to Gotham, and me and came to say goodbye. We hadn't met each other for that long, but we had gotten pretty close, really quick, I was definitely going to miss them. When they finished packing the ship with all of their stuff, Doc approached Damien as the rest of the Titans watched from behind:
- It was an honor to fight beside you and your team, Mr. Wayne. We haven't been able to track Nightmare yet, but reports from all over the country state that people in hospitals are starting to get better, doctors predict the " illness" will be extinguished in a matter of days. You did a great job, and if you need assistance in the future, my doors will be open.
-Thank you Doctor- Damien acknowledged, while they shook hands. A faint smile crossed their mouths. I could see Doc was also sad they had to leave. I approached each member of the team to say goodbye:
-Keep in touch Case.
-You to Cy.
-Do you really have to stay? You could join our team, you would be a great asset!
- Thanks BB, but my whole life is here, I still have to finish college, and my family needs me.
- I f you change your mind, you know where to find us!
- I sure do- We hugged each other tight. BB was a sweet kid.
-Stay safe- said Raven in a dry tone.
- You to Raven- I smiled at her and she smiled back. I believed this was the most amount of affection she could give so I was really pleased.
- May the Gods smile at you at all times- said Starfire.
- Thank you Star, I'm going to miss you too. She hugged me, and I almost got crushed. She was a lot bigger than I was so I felt my feet lifting off the ground when she did that. But steal, it was a kind gesture.
-Could you leaves alone for a second guys?- asked Damien to the rest of the team. They obediently backed off and went to say goodbye to Doc:
- Are you sure you can't join us? We don't have restrictions about the number of sorcerers in the team, it would be wonderful if you could join us.
- This city needs me more than you do, our little adventure has proved that right. I can't go, i'm sorry.
-Well, if you ever need help, this is how you can reach me- he gave me some kind of walike-talkie with a "T" in it. It was black and yellow, obviously high tech, and everyone on the team had one just like it. It was how they communicated between them- you may not come with us, but I think I speak for everyone on the team that you deserve to be an honorary Titan at least.
-That's really kind of you, thanks. Listen, about the other night...
- Hey, don't worry about it. We were all tired, it was dark, we were both vulnerable. You did good in bailing out. I know I would regret it if we had, you know... got through with it.
-Are you sure?
-Totally- he said with a kind smile.
-I'm happy for you Damian. You found yourself a family, a better one. They are one group of amazing people, and you deserve to be happy.
-I know, I was very lucky. I hope you can patch things up with your family as well- he leaned his head towards Doc.
-Yeah i'm not sure that is going to happen anytime soon. Not after what he did to me. What they did to me.
- I think you should forgive him. One thing I learned, is that you never leave your family behind. As for that ex-boyfriend of yours, well... I don't know much about him but he is a piece, I kind of liked him. Whatever you decide to do with him, I think you should at least maintain contact,he strikes to me like the type of guy that would do anything to keep you safe.
-I don't know what amazed me most in that sentence, if it's the fact that you said you liked John, or if it's the fact that you have feelings- we laughed.
-Take care of yourself, Casey.
-Take care, Damian- he gave me a kiss on the cheek. Then, he boarded on his ship, while me and Doc waved at them. We were heading home when I gained courage to face Doc:
-Doc listen, I know I gave you hard time in this past few days, but I got really hurt. I never thought you would do something like that, and I got mad. The fact is, you helped me get through a difficult time in my life. You replaced the hole my grandfather had left in me and gave me a purpose. You made me feel good about being different and embrace everything about me. I can't thank you enough for what you did for me, I guess I never told you that because I was to busy bitching about my life. I'm sorry.
- You don't have to apologize, I was the one that failed you. I should have told you.
- I know it doesn't matter now, but I would have helped you, if you had told me what you wanted. You are a great teacher, and you would make a wonderful Master Supreme.
- I'm just glad that you have forgiven me. So what was all that talk about John?
- I have talked to him, don't worry. Please don't kill him.
- He saved our asses, I should thank him- we laughed for a long time. I couldn't stay mad at him , he was family.
- Care for a little duel when we arrived the Sanctum? You know, just like old times?
-Definitely!
Suddenly my phone buzzed in my jacket pocket. It was Peter. He was checking up on me, and congratulating me for what I had done. " I thought you said you weren't a hero!" he joked. I answered while looking at Doc:
-I'm no hero, I'm a sorcerer.
