🏵🏵"Repairs and squawks"🏵🏵

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

You inhaled the salty air in content as you gripped onto your luggage tightly. The boat you were on was nearing the dock already. The afternoon sun warmed your skin nicely and the ocean breeze blew through your hair softly. You were moving to Beach city, which required a long trip by a ship. You didn't mind, even if the unknown waters scared you slightly. You stared at the nearing city as a smile took over your features. This was it, the start of a new life.
After college, you decided to move away from your hometown, to experience new things. Living all your life in one place, it became boring dare you say. You found out about this beautiful city by total accident while searching through internet. As soon as you laid your eyes upon it, you knew you had to move there. You found a nice house for a low price. It was a beach house placed on the side of the mountain that seemed to have an ancient statue of a beautiful woman engraved in it. Honestly, the low price surprised you. But with no further thinking, you bought the house.

Your trip finally came to an end as a bell tore you away from your thoughts. Quickly gathering your things, you stepped off the boat and wandered off toward the mountain. While walking there you were looking down at your phone, as a notification from wattpad arrived. Consumed into your reading, you bumped into someone harshly. The impact was hard enough to send you flying backwards, even though the other person didn't even budge.
A reddish-purple hand grabbed onto yours and held you up before you hit the ground. Another hand sneaked around you to grab your back and bring you up so you can regain balance. After you did, the hands retrieved back. You shook your head to get yourself out of the shock. After you fully regained yourself, you looked up at whoever you bumped into, and also whoever caught you. As soon as you did, your body tensed up, your legs weakening. The person you bumped into was a tall lady. But what a lady. She had reddish-purple skin, perfectly tamed, black hair that were in a square afro and a visor covering her eyes. Even though she had a visor on, you could tell she was observing you. Her beauty turned your brain into a mush. Completely flabbergasted you tried to choke out an apology but neither your throat or brain would allow you. It was silent, only squawking and other inhuman noises leaving your throat.
Your face burned, what a great start of a new life. You meet a beautiful woman and squawk at her like a complete idiot.

She suddenly chuckled, sending shivers down your spine.

- I believe you're trying to say sorry for bumping into me.- she spoke, her voice smooth as silk.

You nodded briefly, trying to stop yourself from fainting. Before you could say an actual word, she walked past you, nearing a donut shop.
Your face burned mercilessly as you stared at her long lost figure. Sudden jolt woke you up from your trance and you ran to your house, as quick as your legs could carry you. Embarrassed out of your mind, the scene of you squawking and squeaking at the woman replaying before your eyes.
You came to a stop as you realized what caused the price for the house to be so low. It was a ruin.

The door was knocked down, the windows were so dirty they looked completely black, you weren't even sure if those weren't just black foil bags, porch was huge but devastated, the small stairs needed complete renovation. So did the roof.
The inside was no better, there was no furniture, the floors were old, creaky and in many places, broken. There was shattered glass everywhere. The walls were smeared in graffiti's, the remaining paint coming off. As if that wasn't enough, there were spider webs everywhere.
You sighed and pinched the bridge of your nose.
At last, you had enough money that would cover up the expense of renovating this place and buying food. But how long it would take until one, meek human could repair all this? You didn't know, but you had hope.

- Come on (Y/n), you can do this!- you whispered to yourself.

You hid your luggage and bags in bushes, grabbed your money and ran to the nearest store. You bought as much material as you could lift in one trip and ran back home. To your surprise, there were two kids in front of your house talking and giggling at the state the building was in. Netherless, you pushed your cart with supplies past them and grabbed a few tools. You started with the stairs.

- Excuse me? Hi! Im Steven and this is my friend Connie! Are you new? What are you doing?- he asked with a smile.

- My name's (Y/n), yeah im new and im repairing my house.- you said, returning his smile.

- Oh! We could help you!- Connie offered.

- I don't think you can do much but thanks for the offer.- You smiled at them again.

- I know! Garnet can help!

With that the two ran away toward the mountain. You shrugged and continued fixing the stairs. After you were done with the stairs, which you couldn't be prouder about, somebody tapped your shoulder. You turned around to see the gorgeous lady from before. Once again she took your breath away.

- Hello again. My name's Garnet. I don't think I've ever caught your name. Unless it was somewhere in between those cute, little squawks of yours.- she said with a playful grin.

Your heart pounded in your chest, blood rushing to your cheeks.

- U-Uhm, my n-name's (Y-Y/n)..

- (Y/n) suits you. A cute name for a cute girl.- Garnet flirted slightly making you scream on the inside- Anyway, I heard you needed help?

You nodded briefly. Without any words, Garnet started working, so did you of course.
With time you became more and more at ease with Garnet, even if the blush never left your cheeks. A casual chat usually took place while you two worked to make your house an actual living habitat.
With Garnet's inhumane strengh and other abilities, the house was fixed and good as new in less than two weeks. You stood beside the tall woman that you've gotten to know better and admired the house you repaired together.

- I guess it's time for a triumphant tea. Would you like to join, Garnet?- You aksed, no more gibberish leaving your mouth in Garnet's presence.

- I'd love to.

With that you two went inside the house, enjoying what you've done with the place.

What you didn't know yet, was that this house was to become the home of the love you and Garnet would share.
Love stronger than any material known to gems and humans.

Hope you enjoyed it! Larimar out!
