Chapter 1

As I laid there in my bed looking up at the ceiling, my thoughts were racing. I felt lost. There was a piece of me missing, but I didn't know what it was. I didn't have to worry about friends bugging me and asking to hang out because I didn't have any. I knew it probably wasn't normal for a teenage boy to not have any friends, but for me it was normal. After a couple hours of laying there listening to my thoughts, I decided to grab my laptop. I opened up Instagram and scrolled for a little while. That eventually got boring, so I decided to go live. I wasn't what you would consider popular on social media either, but I thought I would give it a shot. I clicked on the 'go live' button and it counted down. Once I was finally live, I decided to introduce myself. "Hi my name is Tyler and I am 16 years old. Im not really what you would consider 'normal', but I don't really mind." That's when something popped up on the bottom of my screen. DjSpookyJim joined your live stream. My face immediately turned bright red and I sorta shrunk in on myself. I didn't know what else to do, so I ended my live without thinking. I jumped off my bed to go get something to drink. When I got back, I saw I had a dm. I thought it was just another dm from some random person asking for a shoutout. I clicked on the notification and it was from the DjSpookyJim guy who had joined my live. The text was simple, but I didn't know if I should respond or not.

DjSpookyJim: Hi! I was the one who joined your live stream. I was just making sure you're okay because you ended it really quick.

I just sat there trying to decide if I should answer. I thought about it and decided I would answer.

AlienBoyJoseph: Hi, thank you for checking on me. I'm okay. I just got nervous because no one ever joins usually.

I went to bed that night with that mysterious boy on my mind. I never had someone check on me before. I knew I needed to keep my guard up, but it still felt good.
