GABE

"Bea, not now. I'm working." Haliee smiled warmly at the elder couple as she placed their steaming mugs of tea on the table. The couple nodded in thanks, turning back to each other as the two girls walked away.

"It's just quick, I swear!" Beatrice took the brown serving tray from Haliee's arm, putting them on the pile on top of the trash bin. Haliee nodded an okay, crossing her arms over her chest. "Okay, so next week, I was planning on taking up of few of the girls and some guys up to the cabin. Their will be alcohol, and swimming and alcohol."

Haliee giggled at her best friend. Beatrice grabbed the brunettes shoulders, shaking her in her spot. "Please come! Pleaseeee!"

"only if I can get the time off of work, okay? and also, no weird coupley things, I don't want to be reminded about how single I actually am."

Beatrice followed Haliee up to the cash, keeping her distance behind the counter as a customer walked up. "Hi, welcome to starbucks, what can I get you today?" Haliee smiled. The customer raised his eyebrows, smirking at Haliee.

"really? I thought we were passed this?" His green eyes watched the female in front of him smile sheepishly, typing in his order knowingly.

"so, the usual then?" he nodded, taking the soon outstretched cup of double double coffee, leaving the two friends alone again. Beatrice raised her eyebrows, at her best friend, wiggling them up and down.

"now who was that?!?" Beatrice giggled, mouth open in shock at her friend.

"his names Luke. And before you say anything, no, we aren't dating and no, i'm not going to date him."

"why!! look at him, he's so dreamy. how about you invite him to the cabin, you know, so you can get over-"

Haliee stopped wiping the counter top, blowing out air dramatically. "-don't say his name."

Hailee's attempt to cut off her best friend unfortunately didn't work, as the name of Hailee's dreaded ex-boyfriend s name slipped form Beatrice's lips. "-James."

Beatrice hissed when Hailee gave her a look. The blonde shrugged her shoulders, "I gotta go, but please get the time off-It'll be so fun, I promise."

The brunette waitress was once left alone again, writing names on cups and taking down customers orders.

9:00p.m rolled around quicker than Hailee thought it would, her shift finally coming to an end for the day. Before she left the small Starbucks, she found herself in the small staff room in the back of the building, collecting her stuff (of course) and mindlessly looking through the calendar, matching it with her schedule.

Micah, her boss, walked in with her bag, smiling when she made eye contact with her employer. Her nimble fingers took her long, dark brown hair out of her ponytail. "Hey, what are you still doing here?"

"Actually, I was hoping I would run into...." Micah raised her eyebrows at Hailee, a sign telling her to continue. "I was wondering If I was able to take Thursday 17th up until Tuesday 22nd. And I know it's short notice, but I haven't taken any vacation time since i've started working and I haven't called in sick in 2 months."

Micah pondered, walking over to the work schedule on the wall. She took her time looking through it, humming as she read her employees times. "Okay, I mean, If you can get somebody to cover your shifts-I don't think it'll be a problem. Where are you heading off to?"

"Oh, old family friend gathering. Haven't seen each other in awhile." Not a lie. But not the truth. Micah didn't need to know that though.

"Ah fun. Yeah, anyways, check with Anna maybe.....or Brian. Their new and probably looking for some hours." Micah sent a warm smile towards Hailee. Hailee smiled gratefully, grabbing her belongings off the counter.

A small ding from Haliee's phone alerted the girl. She looked up from her roommates homemade leftovers from dinner to grab her phone of the counter.

Brain
yes! I need more hours anyway, thank you!

Hailee cheered gratefully, sending a thank you message back to her eighteen year old co-worker.

guess who got their shift covered for
next week!!

Beatrice
does her name happen to be Hailee?!??

Lucy
omg!!! I swear to god if this is a joke...

Lucy
I'm so pumped for next weekend! I've
had the most stressful week at work and
I just can't wait to relax....

Lucy
feel the sun on my face, and sand under
my feet.

Beatrice
I can definitely agree with that. oh and
the lake!!

Lucy
And all the super hot guys Gabe will bring!!

Haliee fork that she used to pick apart her roommates delicious, special, homage taco salad, fell to the table. The clatter made her roommate, who sat comfortably on the couch watching television, call out. But, Hailee ignored her.

Hailee
Gabe is coming?

Beatrice
yes. and I didn't want to tell you
because I knew you wouldn't
come if I told you.

Lucy
are you still not over him? it's
been.....like forever.

Hailee
I don't like Gabe!  I just...you
know what happened.

Lucy
are you talking about the time
when you guys had that weird awkward
moment when he walked in on
you naked? and like he kinda
laughed?

Beatrice
yikes.....

"Hey, are you good?" Clara placed a hand on Hailee's shoulder.

"Yeah." Hailee smiled, "totally fine."

Hailee
don't bring it up! Whatever, I couldn't
care less if he was coming or not. And
like Lucy said, he's got hot
friends. I'll be fine. I don't even want to
talk about  Gabe  because guess what?
I don't care. He doesn't bother me. Frankly, I
hate him. God , do I ever hate
him. This coming weekend is gunna be fun,
okay? So let's not even focus on Gabe.
No Gabe. You know what? who even is Gabe?
