sniper x medic [red]

a change of scenery

A day or two after previous chapter...
[Afternoon]

"I dont wanna go doc."

Sniper leaned on the door frame of his van.

"Oh c'mon you dont know where we are going."

Sniper shook his head.

"That's why I dont wanna go."

Medic was at snipers van. Sniper was avoiding eye contact. He wasn't in the mood to "socialize" with anyone.

"Look Im just trying to help. I noticed,you were uncomfortable with my lab so... I was gonna make it a surprise but with ze current circumstances,I was going to take you to a more open and scenic area."

Sniper looked at medic.

"Which would be?"

"A forest."

Medic could've sworn he saw the light in sniper's eyes. The spark of interest unless it was a hallucination due to heat.

"Do y-you mean the forest near 'ere?"

Sniper asked gaining interest.

"Of course!You would be more comfortable out there than a 'cramped' space seeing you are more of an outdoors man and been kept in this same base for too long. Besides you seem to hate the lab and its hospital look, But~ seeing I dont want to force you to do anything..."

Medic turned to leave...but sniper caught his arm.

"I'll go..."

Medic beamed.

"Wonderful-"

sniper cut him off.

"But I don't have to answer all your questions,  got it."

He quickly stated.

"Oh...Okay then deal."

Medic held his hand out. Sniper hesitantly shook it.

"So what are we goin' in?"

He looked at his surroundings. The orangish red sand on the ground. The sun hanging high above them. The empty desert.

"Well either your van or the team van. Unless you think we can walk there."

Sniper instantly replied.

"Mine."

He took the keys out of his pocket.

"Alright lets go-"

sniper spoke over him.

"I'll be driving."

Sniper got out of the van and went to the side of the drivers seat.He was actually starting to get excited. It has been a while since he's been out well freely that is and not to mention in the forest. When was the last time he went out there anyways? Maybe a month ago back in Australia? Besides that he hadn't received any days off till recently.
