Chapter 22

EMILY'S POV

I diactivated my social network accounts one by one so if they tried to find me on the internet they wouldn't be able to. Thankfully with my hoodie pulled over my head and my sunglasses covering my eyes no one has noticed me even though there aren't many people here.

I made sure to charge my phone and laptop before the flight because there wouldn't be any outlets. I was also doing a bunch of research on internships and job openings since I only have enough money to rent an apartment and get food to last me a week.

"The flight to New Orleans, Louisiana will be leaving in ten minutes" Well here goes nothing. I put my things in my small backpack and got in line in the third class section since I wasn't wasting money on a first class ticket.

HARRY'S POV

"Rayne I'm serious get your ass over here"

"Harry I have an exam tomorrow I can't!" All of the boys were here at my flat in London and the most important person, Emily's sister, wasn't even coming to hear the news.

"Fine you want me to tell you over the phone?" I thought it would be best to tell her in person but she's even more stubborn than Emily.

"Yes I've said that ten times! What could be that bad?"

"Oh it's bad. Emily moved to a different state, changed her number, and deleted her twitter, instagram, and facebook so we have no way of contacting her"

"Is this a joke? Seriously Harry I don't have time for this"

"Fine try calling her yourself" And with that I hung up. As I turned around to face the boys Niall was glaring at me, probably because I yelled at his girlfriend.

"Don't give me that look Niall if Rayne disappeared you'd probably be yelling at Emily too" It's been three days and I'm more of a sarcastic asshole than Louis when he loses to Zayn in a video game.

"Harry please just calm down you're going to have a heart attack or something" Liam said. You just don't say something like that in a time like this..

"How do you expect me to calm down Liam? What if she's not okay? What if something happened to her? There are 49 other states she could be and that's a lot. What if she went to Alaska or something and is freezing right now?"

"I doubt she went to Alaska" Louis muttered. Okay I've had it with him.

"Louis stop. You have no right to say anything right now especially after you went out with my girlfriend" Damn it I really need to stop calling her my girlfriend..

"Ex girlfriend" He corrected. "And Harry you said I could!"

"That doesn't mean that you listen!" I think I'm going crazy. I haven't slept or eaten because when I try to close my eyes at night I see her starving without a place to sleep or hurt or crying and I just don't want to think about all the possibilities.

"You guys need to stop! We need to focus on her not this" Zayn cut in.

RAYNE'S POV

A part of me wanted to believe Harry because he sounded so upset but that's crazy. Emily wouldn't do that. I still decided to call her just to apologize what I said the other night.

It rang about three times then stopped and a robotic voice filled my ears. Sorry this number no longer exists. No. She couldn't have. I kept calling because I didn't want to believe it.
