"What do you mean the schedule is cancelled?"

Kim Taehyung clenched his fingers around the phone he was holding tightly, his knuckles slowly turning white in the progress. This was one of the many mistakes his secretary made in a short amount of time. Although Taehyung was patient enough to take a few mistakes here and there, the man also had his own limits.

At moments like these, he really regretted taking over his father's business. Not that he had a choice, of course. Because just like everyone around him, his father left his side as well.

"I'm sorry CEO Kim," the secretary's trembling voice reached Taehyung's ear - and somehow it made him even madder. It drove him mad because her voice, filled with fear and anxiety, always managed to make him feel guilty somehow. Because of his guilt, Taehyung always found a way to forgive her for her countless mistakes.

"Secretary Yoon," Taehyung let out a sigh, the other side of the line falling completely silent as the poor secretary was holding her breath in anxiety - waiting for her boss' next words.

"You're very young, passionate and reliable. I respect that. However, I believe you are still not able to do and complete some important tasks. When you fail to do your job as a secretary, unpleasant consequences will be following afterwards - and it will be a backlash for me, but also for you secretary Yoon."

Taehyung tried to form his words in the nicest way he could, not wanting to hurt his secretary with harsh words. He understood the pressure of being a secretary very well, actually. A few years ago, when he was preparing himself to be in the CEO's shoes, he was ordered by his father to be his secretary for one week - so that Taehyung could have an idea of how a CEO's schedule looked like.

That week was probably the most stressful week Taehyung has ever been through in his whole life.

"You're doing your job really well, Secretary Yoon. However, there are also too many flaws coming from your side, and I can't afford myself to keep receiving them - especially not around this time of the year."

Taehyung took a deep breath, the other side of the line still quiet. He assumed that his secretary already could guess what his next words would be, as Taehyung could not even hear a single breath coming out of the poor woman's mouth.

"I'm afraid I have to fire you, secretary Yoon."

~

"I really can't believe you fired Yoon Sejin. You probably couldn't handle her hotness, could you?"

Taehyung rolled his eyes at his same-age friend, before throwing a french fry at his dumbfounded face. He was fond of Jimin - something Taehyung would never admit, of course - but the guy could go too far with his playful remarks sometimes.

"Miss Yoon wasn't ready for the responsibilities of being a CEO's secretary. Her outer appearance has got nothing to do with it," Taehyung remarked, while munching on three french fries at the same time. Taehyung loved to eat his stress away - and this morning was quite a lot of stress for the young CEO. Because he had fired secretary Yoon this morning, he had to take care of his own schedules and administrations himself, since there was nobody else available to do the tasks. His head was burning from the pain and his eyes were irritated by watching his computer screen for two hours long. These factors made his stresslevels even go higher.

"Well, seems like you have to hire a new secretary now. You're only giving yourself more work this way, Taehyung." The tone of Jimin's voice actually sounded a tiny bit worried in Taehyung's ears, and he could not help but be caught off guard by it.

"Don't worry, Jimin. I'll find a new secretary in no time, I already mailed the HR-service to post a vacancy on our website." Taehyung told his friend with a reassuring tone, putting his hand on his friend's shoulder before giving it a small squeeze. Jimin just let out a small sigh, before continuing to munch on his burger.

"Well, your work ethic manages to surprise me every single time. It's not even surprising that you surprised me with how fast you did that."

Taehyung chuckled at Jimin's words, shaking his head softly. "Yeah, if you would have the same work ethic our company would've been internationally successful already."

"Nah. As the vice president, I like to take my things slowly. No pressure, no rush and no stress. That's how I do it," Jimin said, not failing to give his friend a playful wink.

"Yeah. That's why I'm the CEO and you're the vice president, right?"

Although Taehyung often found himself teasing Jimin in how bad his work ethic was, he also knew how dedicated his friend was in doing his job. Park Jimin had been his friend since the day he came out of his mother's womb, being a great support to him in the good and bad times. He was very hardworking as well, a quality Taehyung's father could see in him as well. Hence why Jimin eventually became the vice president of Kim Electronics after successfully finishing his business major. Taking over his father's company was not something Taehyung had written on his bucketlist, but he was happy about the fact that he could lead the company further towards its success with his dear friend by his side. That was all that mattered to Taehyung.

Taehyung's thoughts were interrupted by Jimin's ringing cellphone, at which the latter let out a huge sigh. "I can't even eat my lunch quietly for like fifteen minutes these days," the vice president mumbled underneath his breath, causing Taehyung to let out a breathy laugh - finding Jimin's irritation very amusing somehow.

"What is it, secretary Son?"

While Jimin was talking to his secretary on the phone, Taehyung could feel the buzzer of his own phone going off. A new e-mail had arrived in his inbox.

Subject: Secretary Vacancy spot

Hi CEO Kim,

We already found a candidate for the secretary function. The woman sounds very promising. We arranged the job interview for you at 3pm tomorrow. She will be coming.

Her curriculum vitae is attached underneath. For further questions, please respond to this e-mail.

Kind regards,

Kim Electronics HR-service

"Woah, that was quick," Taehyung mumbled softly, before opening the candidate's curriculum vitae.

Bae Joohyun.

Her curriculum vitae looked very promising indeed. This woman graduated from Seoul National University with two business majors, not to mention the fact that she spoke English and Japanese fluently. Taehyung almost jumped from excitement, the thought of having a secretary who was fluent in both of these languages already causing his stresslevels going downwards.

"Why are you smiling at your phone? It's creepy."

As Jimin's remark reached Taehyung's ears, he immediately let his smile drop, coughing awkwardly while he loosened his tie. "Uhm, yeah. The HR-service already found a candidate for the secretary spot, and her skills are insane."

"Really? Woah, that's quick. The HR-people are on a roll these days - we should reward them with day off."

Before Jimin could even realize it, another french fry was coming at his head once again, his eyes coming across an eye-rolling Taehyung, who was mumbling the words "dumbass" and "I should fire you instantly" underneath his breath.

The next day came as fast as Taehyung could blink his eyes - and before he knew it, Bae Joohyun was already standing in front of him. A nervous smile plastered her tiny, doll-like face as she made a little bow towards him - her long, straight hair moving downwards along with her motion.

"Hello, my name is Bae Joohyun. It's nice to meet you, CEO Kim."
