Emi x Reader

My world is dark, cold, and clammy. Everyone says that I'll find my soulmate soon, but I just don't believe them. How would I find them after searching for almost twenty years?

My friends and family have constantly asked me if I can see colors yet. I can never say yes, these colors I see are always shades of grey. It's been like this since I first opened my eyes to this world.

I'm a young adult now. My name is (Y/N). I have lived within the protective walls of the Castle Town ever since I was born. My mother is a saleswoman, and my father works for the Shishikusa family, so he's barely home. I live by myself, but still, close by to my parental figures. I always stop by to say hello to my mother at her shop every once in a while. Along with this, I'm an only child. No brothers, no sisters, just me.

The Castle Town is a very calm place to live in. We are very rarely targeted by entities wishing to tackle down our town. It's the reason why my family first moved into this town in the first place. It has a very hospitable atmosphere, and the denizens never hesitate to give a helping hand, even to newcomers.

That's why I never expected the day many powerful samurais came in and destroyed our precious town. The event happened so quickly, I barely remember seeing my poor mother crying out to me, being held back by a samurai as another dragged me away to the dangerous habitat of the outskirts of the town. My hands were tied behind my back with a rope that aggravated my wrists, a dark piece of cloth was wrapped around my eyes, blocking my field of vision. As my head bashed against rugged stone pathways, my vision began to blur with each hit and eventually knocked me unconscious.

I woke up to complete darkness, the cloth still covering my eyes. My entire body was sore, I was experiencing a pain I could not describe. It was like I was being pinned down by millions of needles, more continuously pouring down onto my unmoving body. I wanted to scream for help, but I felt so worn out, my mouth would open but no noise could escape. Not even a weak croak.

I hear a loud rustling come from the bushes, my fear, and panic levels becoming increasingly high. I'm dead. I'm going to die for sure.

A faint gasp snaps me out of my thoughts, and the soft noise of footsteps quickly approach me.
"Oh goodness! Are you alright?" I hear a soft, yet raspy voice ask me.
I can't speak, my voice too weak to be heard.

A warm, gentle hand caresses my face, another hand reaching behind my head to uncover my eyes.
I open my eyes slowly, locking eyes with a gorgeous woman, staring back into mine.

Suddenly, my world became surrounded in color, like an artist splattering paints onto a previously blank canvas, filling the empty void with a masterpiece of soft colors.

I could not believe what I was seeing.

The woman looked taken aback as well, her hand over her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes. Oh, her eyes. They were gorgeous.
A color I couldn't describe, but to me, they were perfect. 

In seconds, we were both in each other's arms, as I let tears slip down my cheeks.

The strings of fate had led us to this point, and we weren't going to let go any time soon.

We had finally met, and we could only feel joy in each other's arms.
