Writer's Originality

Hi.

Originally, I had planned to write this in a new book; however, I remembered that I had this thing, so here I am updating it.

This morning, I noticed that @Espeon804 had posted something that involved her story not receiving as many views and votes as it should.

When I joined this community roughly a year ago, I will admit that I didn't expect the number of followers I had to grow from a small gathering of people. Even though I only have less than 20 people following me as I write this, I joined Wattpad out of curiosity and to post my stories on a different site.

Most of my stories have yet to break 1k reads; however, with my known history of being lazy at updates, we all know when I update, there is content to the chapters worth reading.

That's why I'm not worried about the whole: Oh crap! Need to post often or my readers are going to abandon ship! The bottom line is those writers who care about that kind of thing are concerned about keeping their story near the top of their friend's lists.

If I wanted to post poor quality content, I'd post writings about predictable plots, forced romance, and all kinds of random stuff that I am certain people are copy-pasting from others and just changing the names just to make it their own.

Lately, I have thought about adding my own original story, and I still plan to do it. The only thing I have going against me at the moment is the fact that I am hitting a bit of writer's block starting this thing.

Other than that, let me get to the heart of the matter: if I cared a lot about the number of votes and views a story has, I would sooner be just writing within the same genre as everyone else just for attention.

When I write, it is for the pure enjoyment and sharing my own inner fantasies. I can care little about how many people review as long as they enjoy the journey that they take into the literary writings that I think about writing.

With that said, I believe that I said my piece about the topic.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, even those who may disagree with what they just read.
