Chapter 6- Pregame Jitters

I push myself off the floor and flush the toilet for what feels like the thousandth time.

Ever since morning skate had wrapped up, it finally dawned on me. I, Karson Blake, was about to suit up for my first NHL game.

Yea, sure. We already had preseason and all that good stuff, but those were just exhibition games. Games no one really cared about, or showed up for.

"You too?"

I look up and see Brownie leaning on the door to the bathroom stall.

"Yea, ever since practice wrapped up this morning, I don't know man."

Dustin stared chuckling, "I'm the same way bud, always have been, probably always will be."

"Wait, you throw up too? You're our captain. You've been playing for the Kings since '03. And you, Dustin Brown, considered to be one of the hardest hitters, and toughest guys in the NHL, still throw up before games."

Brownie started laughing and gave me a playful punch to the side, "Yea, that's me. I don't know. My love for the game is just more than almost anything else. I never want to let these fans, my teammates, or this organization as a whole down. So yea, I get nervous as fuck man."

"I can understand that man. Honestly, I love that about you. Even growing up in Canada and  being a Kings fan, I always admired you and your love for the game."

"Alright Karson, don't get to emotional on me. So believe it or not, I don't have a weird puking fetish and I actually came back here not to spy on you, but Kopi and I, along with Coach Sutter have something we need to show you and talk to you about."

"Oh shit, I'm not in trouble am I?"

"No, quite the opposite actually. Meet me in the locker room when you're ready."

A/N---- Hey guys... Sorry for such a long time inbetween updates. And sorry that the Chapter is such shit and so short. I just wanted to get something out so you guys know I'm not giving up on this story.
