Cheryl's Pov:
"No!" She screamed and laughed as I started to tickle her. After Pop's we went back to Toni's trailer, I didn't care about what my mom thought. I wanted to do this and that's my choice.
"You're dead Blossom" Toni replied and started tickling me back. I fell onto her bed as she sat on top of me and tickled me everywhere. I laughed so hard and loud but I didn't care. I felt safe and I felt that I could be myself with her. She didn't say anything about my laugher or me. She just sat there and laughed with me. I told her about Heather which was big for me. No one knew about her, not even Josie. I liked Toni and I felt bad for how I had acted before. She didn't deserve the shit she got for being a southisder. I was the reason people hated the southside, I had spread rumors about them. One thing is certain though I'm never judging someone based on where they live ever again. I need to tell her the truth about last Friday. She needs to know it wasn't my idea. It was....
"Hey Cheryl?" Toni suddenly asked as she stopped tickling me.
"Yes?" I said and looked up at her face.
"What are we doing?" She asked and I looked at her not knowing what she meant.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
She jumped off me and sat down on her bed resting her back on the wall.
"I mean that I don't wanna.. you know.. like you more than usual if you're just gonna be the same you that you've been since we met" She said and I felt the guilt go from my stomach into my throat.
"Oh no.. I... I like you Toni" I said and she bit her lower lip.
"Do you like me as a friend or?" She asked and I felt myself blushing.
"I like you as a friend but I like you as a... " I replied and looked at her. She now smiled and came closer to me.
"As a..." She said and was no only inches away from my face.
"Lover" I whispred as I felt her breath on my lips, she was just about to kiss me when suddenly the door flung open and my mom stormed in.
"What is going on in here Cheryl?" She screamed as she looked at me and Toni.
"Mrs Blossom hi I'm Toni Topaz, I'm a friend of Cheryl's from school" Toni said and stood up handing her hand to my mom. My mother ignored it and looked at me with a pissed expression.
"You're coming with me young lady!" She screamed as she grabbed my arm.
"Wait let me go get my stuff" I said as I pulled away from her grip.
"Be out in 2 minutes" She said as she stormed out just as quick as she had stormed in.
"Wow she's a nightmare" Toni said and glanced over at me.
"Isn't she though" I replied and smiled before grabbing my bag and running out the door.
I need to tell her the truth tomorrow. I thought as we sped away in my mom's car.
Toni's Pov:
Wednesday, the next day.
"Did you get the confession?" El asked as she stood by my locker.
"No, I wasn't able to" I replied a bit annoyed.
"I didn't either, Archie wasn't in school yesterday so I couldn't ask him" She said as she leaned on the lockers next to mine.
"Well me and Cheryl are hanging out togheter today too so I might get it then" I said as I tried to hide the obvious smile that was growing on my face. She looked at me with her mouth opened in a surprised way and I closed my locker.
"Wait? Are you? Inlove with the bombshell herself?!" She asked and looked at me with a big smile on her face.
"No!" I screamed back, but it was an obvious lie.
"Omg you totally are!" She screamed again as she threw her arm over my shoulder.
We walked togheter to our common class, science.
The lesson started per usual and suddenly the day was over. I hadn't talked to Cheryl but we had glanced at eachother and occasioanlly smiled towards one another. She looked amazing and I couldn't stop thinking about kissing her, I had been so close to doing it yesterday but her insane mother ruined it. I guess she wouldn't approve our eventual realtionship.
After school Cheryl met me at Pop's and we talked for hours, when it was time to leave she stopped me infront of my bike and said.
"I need to tell you something" She looked serious.
"About last Friday?" I asked carefully and she nodded.
I slowly reached my hand down my pocket to press record. I felt the small vibration and Cheryl breathed out. She was about to tell me the truth and I was for some reason nervous.
Cheryl's Pov:
I decided it was time, If me and Toni was gonna be more than friends I needed to explain this to her. She already knew I was going to tell her.
"It isn't what it seems like" I started and I felt my hands shaking. She looked at me and smiled while taking them in her own.
"I didn't want to do it, I was told to do it by someone and he said that if I didn't shove the snakes in her face he would realease the fotage of my dad killing my brother".
"He told me to do it to her and when we got cought he made me lie and say that Sweet Pea tried to rape me and I didn't know what to do! I was scared Toni I was scared shitless" I said as I felt my tears running down my cheek.
Toni's Pov:
"Cheryl" I said as I caressed her cheek. She had just told me the truth but I needed to know who's idea it was. She said it wasn't hers and I believed her but she kept referring to a certain he so I needed to know who he was.
"Who's idea was it Cheryl?" I asked and she looked at me.
"I can't tell you, he will hurt me " She replied.
"Cheryl, I will protect you he won't hurt you" I said and tried to smile.
"It was... It was... Archie" She replied. As fast as she had spoken his name a gun shot could be heard from the forest.
