I groaned, awakening to the Castle's alarms going off.
"Paladins! Quick! Form Voltron! We are being boarded by th-" The announcement cut off and I bolted out of bed, running down the corridor and meeting up with my boyfriend, Keith, along the way to my Lion. We ran down the corridor before a single Galra fighter appeared. It charged, swinging it's claw-like arms at us. I jump in front of Keith, taking the full force of the blow. I cried out, falling to the ground before the fighter stabbed a hand into my stomach. I gasped, coughing up blood. The fighter drew back for another blow before it was cut in half.
Keith looked at me, panic in his eyes.
"No no no no no no no no. Lance? Lance stay with me!" He shouts, putting pressure on my wound. I cough, more blood flying from my mouth.
"Looks like they got me..." I mumble, letting out a weak chuckle before coughing again.
"But at least you're okay." I say, my hand going up to cup his cheek gently. Keith's tears hit my hand and I gently wiped them away with my thumb.
"Don't cry... it ruins your face when you cry..." I tease lightly, coughing again.
"Sh-shut up." Keith says, cupping my face in his hands. I look at him, smiling before my frame was racked with a harsh coughing fit. Blood landed on Keith's shirt, staining the material. He only cradled my head against his chest.
"I-it's okay... w-we'll get you to a healing pod and y-you'll be okay." He says. I shake my head, coughing again.
"N-no... I'm bleeding intensely... I've lost too much blood... just go... go save the Universe." I whisper, looking up at him. Keith shook his head.
"N-no! I'm not leaving you!"
"Y-yes... but I have o-one more request." I whisper.
"A-anything..." He whispers.
"Smile more... y-you need to f-find happiness a-again." I whisper. "That and a-a smile suits you." I cough, wheezing loudly as I gasped for breath. Keith held me close, whispering sweet nothings into my ear before the world started to go fuzzy before it went black.
~Keith's POV~
I screamed angrily when Lance's body went limp in my arms. I got up and ran down the corridor, cutting down anything that got in my way. I got to my Lion after changing into my armor and launched, meeting up with everybody else.
"Keith! Where's Lance?" asks Shiro. I take a deep breath and shake my head.
"He's dead." I whisper, tears falling down my cheeks.
"How are we supposed to form Voltron then?!" asks Everbody. (wow... that's all you care about man?!)
"I don't know! But don't let his death be for nothing! Let's take out the Galra before they kill anyone else!" I shout, engaging the Galra ship and destroying it with everyone's help before we all landed our Lions, heading inside and taking down any troops that had made it inside. Once everything was done, I walked back to Lance's body, seeing the smile on his face. I kneeled next to him and sobbed, holding his cold hand in mine.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry I couldn't save you." I sob, kissing his knuckles. I then picked up his body and carried him to the healing pod bay. I laid him down on the one table and kiss his forehead gently. Everyone gathered around us and gasped, seeing Lance.
"Oh... oh no." Whispers Allura. I cried, holding Lance's hand tightly. Everyone hugged me tightly.
"We're sorry Keith... we know that Lance was the only thing keeping you going..." I sob at their words.

It's been months since Lance's death and I still haven't recovered. My appetite was gone and I lost any fight I had left in me. The only thing that kept me going was revenge. I needed to avenge him. I wrapped myself in his jacket and take a deep breath. It no longer smelled like him but it was still his jacket. One of his favorite belongings. I pull my knees up to my chest and sigh softly. I felt a slight chill and looked around.
'I'll always be with you Keith.' said Lance's voice. I looked around for him but found nothing. I stood and sighed.
"Why did you leave me?" I ask softly before leaving my room.
