I walked down the hall to Erykah room where I could here her sniffling a little.

She was curled up in a ball facing the wall playing with Eden.

"Erykah I know this is kinda unaware to you but please know that he is a good guy and I really do love him. if you just give him a chance i know he will be in your favor."

She turned over and looked at me

"Ma....you never told me that you wanted to date. you said it's was just going to be me you and Eden. now your bringing this strange man in the picture, what is this?" She asked

"Listen..... my whole entire life I've been in this shell because I was afraid. After me and your father divorce, I didn't want nothing to do with men but as time went on by, I found my self lonely."

"But your not lonely ma, you have me and now you have Eden. were here for you"

"Yes and I know that but it's not the same love and attention you want from a significant other Erykah. Patrick is a wonderful man. he has this amazing sweet personality that I just want you to see."

"Okay....but one screw up and I don't want nothing to do with him" she says

"Thank you..... So come help me make dinner" I said

"Ok fine" she grabbed Eden and I followed her out The room and back into the kitchen.

Eveny and her son and daughter came back in with big smiles...well Eveny did. her daughter Erykah had rolled her eyes and went straight in the living room to put down the baby. That's okay though I got something for her stubborn ass.

"So how was your day babe?" Eveny asked

"It was good, there's so much going on with fellas down at the construction department it's crazy"

"Ugh I know what you mean, them women at the shelter is something else....."

I got up and helped her set the table.

We continued holding conversations until it was time to eat.
