Nights for Jessica had become peaceful now.

After years of therapy, she had changed her way of seeing things. Literally. She was no longer seeing the thing she had seen at summer camp.

Things were looking up. She had a boyfriend, a good, close group of friends who had no idea of her past, and her mom was proud of her. Proud of her progress.

As Jessica stepped into her house, she got a text from her mom.

"Hey, Jess. Gonna be out late 2nite. Left u some money for pizza on the counter. Love u." -Mom.

Jessica smiled at her mom's text. She loved being home alone. That meant pizza and scary movies! Scary movies that her mom didn't let her watch, for fear of having a setback.

Her movie watching set up contained blankets to hide under in case she got scared, popcorn to munch on, soda to sip, and candles to light up the what would be dimly lit room.

The Sun had set by now, as Jessica was already into one of her movies. She was bundled up in the blankets, a soft smile on her face. This was her secret enjoyment, and enjoyment she didn't get to have often. But when she did, boy did she go all out.

Off in the distance, something lurked in the darkness, waiting for its time to strike. It watched Jessica with malicious intent, its white eyes narrow with anger.

As she neared the end of her first movie, the clock struck 9:30 pm. For some reason, she had gotten her horror movie jitters early this time. She was starting to become paranoid, afraid of every bump in the night. From outside, there was the rustling of branches of a bush. Jessica heard this, and her heart began to race, fearing the worst.

Getting up from her seat, she tip-toed over to the huge glass window that stood overlooking her backyard. She peered around the yard, breathing heavily. What if the monster from the movie had come to life and was in her yard?

And then she saw a figure dash from a bush in her yard to the next. Its talons dragged on the ground at it ran, kicking up dirt and grass.

Jessica's eyes couldn't have been any wider at this point. Her heart was beating out of her chest, and her throat felt like it was closing from fear. She took three slow steps backward from the window before turning around to run to her sofa.

She grabbed her phone and scrambled to text her mother.

"Mom! Mom, I think I'm seeing her again!" She sent the text to her mother.

She scanned the living room, body trembling in fear.

Outside, the figure began floating towards the window, although slowly. Its white eyes were wide and bright. Once it was at the window, it leaned its forehead against the glass. It picked up one of its talons and tapped a rhythmic pattern on the window to get Jessica's attention.

Jessica snapped her head in the direction of the window, letting out a blood-curdling scream as she laid eyes on the being. Enya.

"Go away!" She screamed, scooting herself as far away from the window as possible as the sofa would allow her.

Buzz!

Jessica took her eyes off of the window to look at the text her mother sent.

"Sweetie, I'll be home soon. Give me 30 minutes."

Thirty minutes is too long, thought Jessica

After gathering herself, Jessica looked back at the window and was met with horror. Enya wasn't there anymore. It was gone.

She scanned the room again, heart pounding. Where could it have gone? And then she figured out where was she turned her head to the left.

She was met with the most grotesque smile a person could ever see. It had pointed teeth and black goo dripping from the corners of its ripped mouth.

The white eyes were piercing and seemed to look right through Jessica. They narrowed as the thing cocked its head to the side.

"Please," Jessica whispered, "Go away."

Enya grabbed hold of Jessica's arm and squeezed tight, drawing blood from where its talons were.

Jessica was Enya's now.

When the girl's mother arrived home, she was met with an empty house and a tv that had a movie playing. She searching everywhere for her daughter but to no avail. Jessica was nowhere to be found.

Days, weeks, and months followed, and the search for Jessica ended. She was presumed dead. But she was very much alive, living out her life with the rest of the "children" that Enya had captured. They were no longer children anymore, but full grown adults.

Jessica was never found.
