"Whats going on in here?" Ben spoke, smirking as he raised an eyebrow at us. Looking over at Mike and then to Tom I started to feel overwhelmed. I had gone and told them both now that'd I'd go with them, and there was no way I could be at two places at the same time.
"We were just talking..." I murmured, looking away from Tom's once again stormy blue eyes and gentle smile.
"It sounded like Mike was asking you out." Ben pushed, wiggling his eyebrows and elbowing Tom in the ribs, earning a glare from me when Tom winced and backed up slightly.
"I, I was asking her if she wanted to come w-with me to a dance Friday..." Mike confirmed, making me instantly want to slither away from all three boys surrounding me. I couldn't go with Mike and just leave Tom hanging, and I didn't really want to tell Mike I couldn't go with him because I'd already promised Tom I'd go to our school dance with him. I'd planned on telling Mike about the current goings on between Tom and I, but I didn't think now was the right time.
"What'd she say?" Ben pondered loudly as Tom stood behind him silently brooding, his blue eyes narrowing in on me expectantly.
"I-I didn't give an answer yet." My voice shaky while nervous sweat began seeping out of my pores, I had tried to avoid Tom's gaze, but I could feel his eyes on me.
Quirking an eyebrow at my uneasy state before looking between Tom and I, Ben nodded getting some form of clue from the blue eyed boy next to him, "Ah, well we should get going because Tom's pretty tired..."
"I'll walk you guys out then..." backing up and clumsily stumbling into Mike in the process.
"S-sorry..."
"It's ok." He smiled, holding onto my elbow to keep me in the upright position. Smiling back, I chuckled softly at the events currently taking place as I continued towards the door with both boys following me.
"See ya, Luna." Ben waved, stepping through the doorway and across the porch to the grass before turning around and waiting for Mike to do the same.
"S-so, I'll see you later then." Mike spoke quietly, blushing when his dark eyes met mine before he stepped out onto the porch.
"Yeah..." I smiled, my heart pounding so hard I felt I was about to go into cardiac arrest. I wanted to talk to him more, to tell him about everything no matter how crazy it may seem, to tell him I really wanted to go with him on Friday.
"Mike..." My voice nearly a whisper, reaching out to grab his hand. He turned quickly shocked, his face resembling what mine must've looked like when he'd done that to me earlier.
"Hm?" He hummed, his face turning red when his eyes landed on our hands that were linked together.
"Can you um, I-I mean only if you want to, stop by my work tomorrow? I want to talk to you about some stuff."
"Me? You want me to come see you at work?" He beamed, his thumb smoothly gliding over the top of my hand.
"Yeah, if you want to though, I don't want you to feel like you have to -"
"I'd love too." His bashfulness lifting a bit before blinking down at me.
"Ok, tomorrow at five then?"
"I'll be there with bells on." He confirmed, smiling and gently squeezing my hand one last time before heading off with Ben.
"Bye boys!" I shouted, shutting the door quietly before going back to the kitchen to join Tom. Peeking through the doorway I frowned, the blonde boy I was hoping to find nowhere in sight.
