my emotions
are caged
in Pandora's box
and although i wish
they could slide off my tongue
easy onto the hands of a lover
they stick like honey on the back
of my throat
and i wish i could tell my friends that
they are doing nothing wrong
that i'm just cruel
an inconvenience sometimes
and i want them to know I'm changing
but its hard to applaud a change
that is similar to the season of autumn
where everything needs to decay for any recognition
and in the end
nobody likes things that are dead
