Chapter 2

They are both still staring at the pup, it doesn't look like time is going to move anyway. Ace pokes Ticker to make sure he is real.

"Would you two cut it out? I remember seeing species like me around here so I shouldn't be that alien am I?" Ticker asks." Sure you are but..." Grace hugs her books tightly," It's not normal for dogs to talk," she replies, looking around, still making sure there wasn't anybody not frozen in time.

"It's only the three of us, I had to adapt your language so that I can ask you lot to h-" He abruptly stops, then turns to Ace," You look strong, here," Ticker gives her a sword out of nowhere, Ace grips it tightly, it's a little heavy for her." Why the hell is this here?! This should be illegal!" Ace exclaims, Ticker looks at her up and down and then points at Grace.

"I think you're more suited to wield that," Ticker replies," That's even bonkers, you'll hurt someone with this," Ace adds, dropping it on the ground, Grace jump a little as a loud clank sounded throughout the area.

"Found you~" another person replies, only this time, it's a man. Ace and Grace whips around and looks at the guy with a pale face. Where they are right now is a very hot place, but this guy, a silver haired, tall, strong-looking businessman with a gray suit and red scarf stands before them.

"Captain!" Ticker exclaims," What is going on?!" Ace exclaims back," He's a very bad person! You need to use the sword, now!" Ticker exclaims.

"Ah, the Defender, I'll be needing that," he replies and reaches a hand over," Take it, it's heavy anyway," Ace snorts." No! Grace please! At least try out the sword!" Ticker exclaims. Captain chuckles darkly," do you really think these weaklings have the power to wield the artifacts of the Unknown?" he asks.

"This is sounding a lot like some RPG stuff," Ace deadpans, but what she didn't know is that Grace is a huge nerd and everything they are saying now is like a dream come true for her. She clenches her fists and grabs onto the handle of the sword. Despite how heavy it looks, Grace is actually able to lift it with ease.

"... What?" Captain mutters, Grace almost drops the sword due to shock and quickly gathered herself, Captain approaches her with an aura of darkness," Lady-" Grace panics and swings the sword, though he is a few steps away from the tip, a phantom slash pushes him back, hitting him with a metal clashing against metal sound.

Grace's hands shake a little, but not because of any backlash, only because he is standing too close to a frozen Angel and Karie.

"You will come with me," Captain replies with a little difficulty, he places a hand onto Angel's shoulder, Grace's legs shake a little as she raises the sword again." Whether you like it or not," Captain growls and jumps away, dodging another phantom attack but then Angel's shoulder glows purple.

"Come out! The soul's true nature!" Captain exclaims and the world goes purple.

"There is no point in living in this boring, harsh world,"

Grace backs up in fear as a giant shadow loom over them, Ace eyes widen at the sight," Was that... Angel?" she asks. The shadow turns into a being with light, as tall as a building, it was like they were in a monster movie or something, except there wasn't anybody screaming or running away.

Both of them look pale as the being start to move. Ticker panics and takes out a bow and place it onto Ace's hands only for them to drop, he quickly takes out a flail, but Ace drops it too, like her hands has no strength in them.

He gives up and goes to another category and gives Ace a ball of fire which extinguishes in her hand. He is about to put a rock when suddenly a streak of water shoots from across the street.

"Leo!" Grace exclaims in awe as Leo comes in, riding on a water dragon and crashing it into the being's huge form, he lands on a descending gush of water.

"Sorry I'm late junior," a familiar sounding voice replies. It was the cat from earlier!" You!" Grace exclaims." My name is Mirage, I'm a messenger of Lux," they reply.

"What is the meaning of this?" Ace asks.

"I was about to ask you the same thing," Leo replies." Uh guys?" Grace points to the giant who is destroying the traffic lights and when in stomps onto the car it disappears like being deleted from a game.

The same thing happens to the people around.

"Biscuits," Ace mutters.
