My name is Calum Hood and before my story starts I want to tell little about myself.
I'm 18 years of age, which makes me a senior at the high school I attend in Florence, South Carolina.
When I was younger, about 13, I was diagnosed with acute panic disorder, depression disorder, bipolar disorder and claustrophobia.
I know it's a lot for a 13 year old, but the doctors told me that it was due to the fact that my Mom passed away when I was eight.
My Mom and I were really close actually. She took me with her everywhere. Then one day, when we were coming home from the grocery store, there was a delivery truck coming at us.
That's the last thing I remembered before I was in the hospital, oblivious to the situation. When I awoke from my sleep, the first question I asked was where my mother was.
That's when my dad looked at me with a small, concerned smile and I knew. They didn't even have to say anything, I didn't want them too, but I knew.
A few short months later, my father said that a new family with the last name King was moving across the street soon. .
That's when I met Ryan and Bekah King. Over the years we have gotten really close, Bekah and I especially.
Bekah has been my muse. The day I met her I knew there was something about her that I would never forget.
I tell Bekah everything, she knows how to make me feel better, she gets me.
It probably has to do with the fact that her brother has emotional issues himself. Ryan has bipolar disorder as well, but he also has a sever case of schizophrenia.
Ryan has been in and out of hospitals for as long as I can remember. I feel bad for the kid, frankly.
Bekah's parents told my dad about a doctor that they take Ryan to. Apparently he's really fantastic.
Today is my first time coming here, and honestly I already don't like it. They don't refer to us patients as people.
They call us projects, and I'm Project 8:11.
