a/n: Yes I know, the last time I updated this story was way too long ago. It was only recently when I suddenly thought of a good plot for this story. Before that, I only had a rough idea of where this one will go but now that I've thought about it, I was suddenly so inspired to continue it with this new plot I thought about.

I'm sorry that it's been a long time, but will you be willing to go down this journey with me? This story is going to be a lot like a shoujo manga with Prince of Tennis as its base, in other words, it's going to be a rollercoaster ride. I hope you're ready!

Please do review to tell me what you think at the end of this chapter. Feedbacks are needed!

....

Today was the day she was going to meet Shitenhouji's track team and hopefully would become part of it. She wasn't exactly fond of the idea of school, well; she never was since all it reminded her of was her past. Back in Hyotei, her motivations to attend school were her track team and her classmates like Akutagawa Jirou.

If there was anything to make her look forward to her school days in Shitenhouji, she prayed it would be the track team here.

Shizue swept her gaze down her reflection in the mirror near the main door one last time and left the house. Yesterday was a good day, even though it was pretty eventful for her first day

She pushed open the gate and sighed softly as she wondered whether she should take it as a good sign.

Shizue let out another sigh as she pulled the gate back securely against its wooden frame and was about to turn and start walking when–

"Good morning, Okuda-san."

Raising her head sharply, Shizue found her taking a step back in surprise to find Shiraishi approaching her from the street lamp he was standing under, the hand holding a book to his face falling to his side.

"Shi-Shiraishi-kun?"

She shouldn't be surprised knowing he lived next door but hey, getting greeted by him the moment she exited her house wasn't exactly how she had imagined her second day of school would start.

"C'mon, let's walk to school together." Shiraishi flashed a smile in response to the confused look on her face.

Wait, was that why her mother was so persistent in getting her out of the house just now?

Shizue felt the urge to groan rising up her throat but quickly pushed it back down, and frowned in puzzlement at the tennis captain that seemed to tower a few heads over her – a foreign height of his that she was still trying to get used to ever since she returned to Osaka.

"What about your morning practice? Aren't you supposed to be in school by now?" She asked as they began walking.

"Not every single morning. There was none scheduled today so I thought it was a good idea to walk to school together," Shiraishi chuckled. "Plus, your mum was pretty enthusiastic about it so why not?"

"Oh."

She knew it. Her mom had a part in this.

Shizue nearly let out a groan again.

....

Walking to school with Shiraishi was definitely not a good idea.

The not-so-subtle stares and whispers judging her as they walked through the school gate made her wish the ground underneath her could swallow her this instance. She should have learnt her lesson yesterday when she sat with the tennis hotshots, but damn no, it just had to slip out of her mind that Shiraishi was one of them, or possibly even the biggest out of them being the captain.
