It is currently 11:23 PM ... and I am seriously craving some dang Taco Bell. Hmmm ... Taco Bell. I need some new things to try there ... any suggestions? I currently am a fan of the Doritos Tacos Locos (both flavors, and the spicy kind) the Mexi-Melt, the Crunchwrap Supreme, and the Nachos. Anything else that is super, super good? Now ... I'm gonna have to go get me some Taco Bell!
ENJOY!
ALANA POV (most of the story will be told by her point of view)
The sound of the bullets hitting the target made shivers run down my spine. The sound soothed me, calmed me.
I honestly wish I could get a firing bullets ringtone. Or maybe a machinge gun ringtone. That would make everyone leave me alone.
I would be talking to someone that thought I was a pathetic little girl, and then, someone else would call me, and bullet sound would echo through the air. I would then proceed to say, "Sorry. I gotta take this."
The look on the person's face would be priceless. Then, of course, I would snap a picture of that priceless and make it go viral all over the internet.
No one would mess would me ever AGAIN.
But, I had to keep the good girl charade up.
"Alana ... get up here this instant." My father's annoying voiced reverbed all of the walls, slamming into my body, almost taking my breath away.
"Yes, daddy!"I responded sweetly through my teeth, my fists clenched.
"You spend way too much time down in that damn library." He muttured, and then it was silent.
I groaned, throwing off my shooting glasses. I quickly unloaded my gun, tucking it safetly into the cabinet underneath the counter.
I stripped off my black gloves, my leather jacket, and my studded boots, throwing them into a drawer. In the same drawer, I grabbed the book Pride and Prejudice, a yellow cardigan with Daisies on it, and some red flats. I quickly slipped on my new attire while gripping the book tightly in my hands. I had, in fact, never actually read Pride and Prejudice. But, I assumed since it was one of every other girl's favorite books that it should be one of mine too.
SparkNotes had proven exceptionally helpful in my situation whenever someone asked me about the book.
"Alana, hurry up! I am sending someone down there to get you." His angry voice didn't frighten me at all.
"No, that's okay Daddy! I am sure that I will be safe walking up to your office." I quickly said, putting my finger up to the scanner.
"I don't want to take any chances." He grumbled.
My eyes widened at his words and I felt my body jumping with fear. The scanner quickly read my fingerprint.
"Please enter security code." It murmured back at me. My fingers swfitly typed in the code and my thumb jambed the enter button.
"Securing lockdown." I watched as the shooting range disappeared before my eyes. Some of the material went through the floor to the safe underneath while others tucked neatly into the back wall. The book cases immediatley came foward, discretley hiding everything.
The sound of moving stopped. Everything was back in place. It now just looked like a normal library, well, a extravagent library, and no one would expect anything different. The walls were a vintage red color, and the book cases were a black color that glistened under the latterns that hung across the wall. The sofas were placed fashionably around the room, and a ladder led to an upper level of the library. In the corner, there was a small kitchen, stocked with drinks, treats, and other goodies.
I sprinted foward, jumping into a nearby chair. I tucked my feet underneath myself, flipping the book open to a random page.
My whole body froze. "Shit, I forgot my glasses."
I dove towards the nearby bookshelf and yanked open the bottom drawer. Placed inside were a dozen pairs of the exact same glasses. I quickly shoved a pair onto my face and returned to my chair.
I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear and bit my lip softly.
I was the perfect painting of a good girl.
I heard the door open but pretended not to. I looked down at the words on the pages, seeming completly enthralled.
"Alana," The strong voice said. I knew that it was Robert, one of my bodyguards, by his voice. He was an older man, in his late 50's, but he was also one of the largest men I have ever known. He towered over me at 6'11" and his body was filled with muscle, and nothing but muscle.
I continued to stare at the pages of my book, not knowing what part of the story I was at. I ignored his voice, selling the act.
He cleared his throat." Alana, your father wants to see you."
I glanced up, pretending to be surprised. "Oh! Sorry! I didn't see you there. Sometimes I just get lost within the pages." The lie slipped easily through the cracks in my teeth, and my insides were smirking wtih satisifaction.
He smiled a small smile and ushered me foward. I set the book down on the table, before following him up the stairs.
"Robert, have you ever read Pride and Prejudice? Because if you haven't, you should. It is an amazing book."
Thank you all so much for reading! I really, really hope that you enjoyed it! So ... love you all! Hopefully there will be a new update soon!
