closet talk

I always knew who I was,
What I was.
Always knew my feelings were different,
And once I knew how to describe it
That one word that encompassed my feelings
Into a nice little box
With a flag on top
I wanted to shout it from the rooftops
It's hard to accept yourself
When before you can open your mouth
People are already making you the butt of the joke
Humiliation put me back
Feelings, flag and all
Into the closet
Hoping no one found it
But I'm pretty sure
My mum knew
The whole damn time
