The Afternoon that Jake had come home, from winning the two game road trip, with two more back in Boston that they could possibly sweep.

Jake had been lying on the couch, Watching reruns of Law And Order SVU, when the front door opened.

"Brynn?"Jake had cautiously called out, as he knitted his eyebrows, as it was only 12:30 in the Afternoon, and Brynn wasn't supposed to get home until 8:30.

"Yeah?"Brynn's voice cracked, as she sat on the floor in front of her door, and her eyes red and puffy.

Things had gone south ever since Zarens has shown up at UMass that morning..

Jake Jumped up off the couch, and started to speed walk down the stairs to where Brynn sits.

"Brynnie?"Jake Asked, pulling Brynn into a hug, and that's all it took before Brynn broke down once again.

Zarens had crossed a line early this morning, when he had called Brynn into his office, and once again, he had hit on her, but it had gone too far...

"Brynn what happened.."Jake asked softly, holding the blue eyed girl into his arms.

"I'm done, I quit, he won, I'm done working for the jackass.." that was all Brynn could get out, before she burst into a fresh set of tears.

Jake knitted his eyebrows together, holding his best friend in his arms..

He was confused at hell at the whole situation.

Who the Jackass was.

And what he had done..

But he knew he needed to be there for Brynn...

The two sat in the doorway for awhile, with Brynn in Jakes arms, as her cry's turned into sobs..

Brynn lifted her head from Jakes head, with tears streaming down her face, and dropping onto hands.

"Do you wanna talk about it?"Jake asked, and Brynn just shook her head, murmuring a no, before grabbing Jakes hand, and leading the two into they're bedroom.

"Can we go to sleep?"Brynn murmured, rubbing her red eyes, and Jake nodded, kissing the top
Of his girlfriends head.

Brynn grabbed a pair of sweatpants, one of Jakes Bruins
t-shirts, and one of Jakes sweatshirts, before going into the bathroom and changing.

Jake Laid on the twos king mattress, thinking while Brynn was in the bathroom.

What the fuck happened at work that made her quit.

When Brynn awoke, she found herself alone in the bed.

Confused, and still half asleep, Brynn crawled out of the bed, and caught a quick glance at the clock.

3:30

'Great' Brynn thought, as she walked into the living room, to find three ladies sitting in her living room.

"Steph? Mel? Tat? What the hell are you doing here at 3 in the afternoon?"Brynn asked, as she grabbed a water bottle, and Step sighed, getting up.

"Mackenzie told us because Jake called her."Steph stated simply, and Brynn shook her head bitterly.

"I'm going to fucking kill her."Brynn muttered, her temper rising, "I'm going to fucking kill her!"

Brynn slammed her elbows down on the counter, before placing her head in her hands, and her breath hitches.

She had never been so pissed in her life.

She wasn't even this pissed off when Jacob Taylor, the Star Quarterback of the high school that Jake and Brynn had gone to, ditched her the night of prom.

"She couldn't fucking stay out of it!"Brynn yelled, and Steph rubbed her back sighing.

"Kenzie and Conrad were the ones who—"Brynn cut Steph off.

"I know what they did ok! I know what everyone did! And I just wish I fucking quit when I had the chance!"Brynn snapped, before storming down to her bedroom, and starting to let the tears fall.

And they were silent tears.

It brought back a memory from what her mother once told her when she was younger.

'Silent tears hold the loudest pain.'

And her mother was right.

These tears did hold the loudest pain.

After a few moments, Brynn lifted her head from the comforter, to find a card laying on her bedside table.

She walked over to the blue envelope quietly, before slowly her fingertips grabbing ahold of the card, before putting it on her lap.

She stared at the blue card with a messy 'Brynn' written on the front for a few moments, before finally ripping open the card.

"I love it when we watch the hunger games you yell at gale to get out of the shot because it's an 'Everlark moment' and you throw popcorn at the TV, it might be a mess to clean up after but it's worth it because you love the movies and I love you."

Brynn placed the card back in the envelope, and pulls out a shoe box from under her and Jakes bed, and picking it up, placing it on the bed.

She slowly slips open the box, to reveal twenty cards, all with her name written in sloppy cursive on the front of them.

A smile tugs at Brynn's lips, as she picks up the first card that started this all.
