The thing about life is that it's unexpected, not forgiving or empathetic. One minute I could be in the childhood home struggling as the abused daughter of her constantly enraged gang leader of a father trying to avoid his wrath. To the next minute being taken hostage by what presumably is a gangster, but actually a leader and important figure of power in the mafia.
Things change quickly and it's scary to think the universe has such power to change and bend realities to something so backwards.

Hugo POV:
Today is the day my crew and I have been carefully planning for months. Because today is the day we are making a move against our rivals. The Grim Reapers, usually referred to as just the Reapers. I have been working hard nonstop for this to be successful, and to avoid anything from going wrong."Terrance security cameras in check?" I ask through the walkie-talkie.
"You got it boss" Terrance replies.
"Rico, guns ready?" I confirm, "You bet chief" he says with determination."Freya, do you have the electric system hijacked?" I check, "Damn right I do baby" she flirts.
Never fails to be flirty, but there's a time and place, and this isn't it."Xavier do you have the layout of the place and its escape routes nailed down?" I finish off with.
"Affirmative" He responds.
Now it's go time."Okay on my count everyone!!!"
"1—2–3— NOW NOW NOW" I shout through the comm.🖤
Louisa's POV:
Today is my 19th birthday. I can't say I'm excited.Ever since I can remember my birthday never mattered.
I grew up being resented by my own family. My flesh and blood.Specifically my father.
My father was a ruthless businessman and gang leader who despite his "efforts" to provide a good life for me, forgot that being apart of it, and acting like an actual compassionate person would have been more important to me.Maybe his disliking was due to his desperation for having a son instead. Or maybe its because my mother died because of me... as he would say. She died from child birth. He never let me forget that. Sometimes I thought I could sense some form of caring for me, but it's in my head, and if it is, it's brief, and solely because I looked like mother, which a majority of the time was why he resented me.
Every time I look in his eyes, I can see the putrid disgust that takes over him at my sight. Sad, I know.
After getting ready, I walk downstairs to be greeted by the only person who ever gave a shit about me... René. My father hired her less than two days after my mother's funeral because he couldn't stand being alone with me. She was my mother figure, and she took on all the roles of a mother and did a damn good job. Even with her, some voids cannot be filled, and I always wonder about my mom.
René looks at me beaming with excitement. She grabs my hand and leads me past the grand kitchen, to the parlor. Sitting down on the velvety couches, she motions for me to sit next to her.
I comply, knowing what this is about. Every year she gathers most of her savings to buy me a present. You'd think my father, who basically could wipe his ass with money would be the one to buy or give me gifts with a beaming smile. But instead he goes to a high-end elite bar and drinks till his pH levels are through the roof.
