Starting Over

Chapter 5

*Cali's POV*

I looked around me in awe since I've never been to a place so enormous. The mall had so many stores like clothing stores, candy stores, make up stores, and many more. I could legit be on a hunt for sonic the hedgehog and I'll come back with 20 different versions of him with some onion rings to represent the gold rings in the game. The mall had around 4 stories and on each floor there was 20+ stores. (I'm just making this up btw so eeeeehh) On the top floor there was a food court. "Wow I don't even know where to even start." I exclaimed in awe still looking all around me.

"Well let's split up. Who wants to go with Roxas, Jax and I? We're probably just going to look at some games." Xavier stated raising his hand as if he was asking for permission to speak. "Well Ji and I will probably go look at some clothes or make up or something." Ji nodded to confirm that she was indeed going with me. I looked at Christian since I noticed him slowly scooting closer to the boys. I just chuckled and shook my head focusing my gaze else where.

"I'll go with the girls." I heard Tae whisper.  I brought my gaze to look at him to see that he was looking down with a slight blush on his face. "I wear make up too. Don't judge me." He said while looking up, bringing his hand to the back of his neck in a awkward motion. I decided to study his face a bit to see if he was wearing any make up at the moment. He had a little bit of eye make up on but it looked natural, it just let his eyes look a bit sharper. He was wearing a white hoodie with black jeans and white shoes which looked extremely comfortable. Ji was wearing a plain pastel pink sweater with white high waist jeans and slip on white shoes. Xavier was wearing a black sweater with "thrasher" written across it and black jeans with white paint splatters on it with black vans. Jax wore a similar outfit but his top was a hoodie. Roxas was wearing a blue patterned button up with white jeans and dark blue shoes. Christian was wearing a white shirt with a tan jacket over it and black jeans with his black and white nikes. I was wearing a plain white cropped sweater with black high waist jeans and black and white converse. I also had a black and white purse slung over my shoulder. "Okay then. Christian call me when you guys are done shopping okay?" I told Christian while walking away with Ji and Tae. 

The reason why I wanted to go to the mall today was to change everything about myself. I noticed a while ago that I hid myself a lot so I wore dark clothing a lot so I won't be seen. I just wanted to hid from everything and everyone. I was scared to try new and different things because I didn't want them to bring down my self esteem even more so I hid my true self. I was scared to stick out from the crowd cause society can be cruel and hypocritical, it can say one thing and set standards yet tell us to love how we are and who we are but once someone reaches that standard they get bashed and hated for it. It's truly sad, and confusing to think that what society has come to now. But now I can become who I want, I can be myself now. 

I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't notice that Tae and Ji brought me to some sort of clothing store. The clothes has such an aesthetic feel to them which I loved. Most of the clothing didn't really have complex designs on them, they were either plain, had patterns, had one word on it or a small phrase. I started to look around at the shirts. I picked up a lot of crop tops and shirts that had vertical strips on them. I also got 4 more hoodies and 2 more jackets. Most of them were pastels or light coloured. I didn't bother getting any new pants because black and white go with everything plus that's really all I have. I picked up some hats as well, one of them had three rings dangling from it. 

I took everything I picked out and paid for them with my card that my parents gave me but never used until now. Once I had everything I looked around to find Tae since he's easier to spot than Ji. I carefully look around until I spot Tae black hair and tall stature looking at hoodies. I slowly crept up on him trying to not make any sound but when I was right behind him he suddenly turned around, bending down so our faces are leveled. "Boo." He whispered with a smirk on his face.
