3. Second miss's Mother

In Xing Xiao's past life Juan Lin, her mother, was more ruthless and scheming. Juan Lin gave birth to Xing Xiao at the age of twenty while Shui Tao was twenty-nine. Juan Lin didn't have a choice but to quit school.

Her mother was so furious that she disowned her. Juan Lin's father was no better and refused to help her because he too already started a new family from his affair with another woman. Juan Lin's father wouldn't dare crossfire with her mother, who at that time was a bit influential in the business industry.

Juan Lin moved in with Shui Tao, she found out that he already his own daughter living with him and a son that he left with his brother. Shui Tao who apparently only approached her for her mother's fortune. Though she did not love Shui Tao she still felt aggrieved because Shui Tao turned out to be not as she expected. Though Shui Tao is smart and hard-working it was all in vain because he is a con artist and feeding off businesses. Juan Lin was ashamed and regretful.

When Xing Xiao turned five Juan Lin begged her mother to take in Xing Xiao while she works. Juan Lin's mother was reluctant but agreed anyway after all the old generation cannot refuse the young generation. Though Juan Lin's mother agreed she left Xing Xiao in the care of her new husband. Juan Lin's Mother's husband happily took care of Xing Xiao and pampered her. Unfortunately one and a half years later the business went bankrupt and Xing Xiao's grandfather became an angry man.

Juan Lin came back to retrieve Xing Xiao when she turned seven. They lived in a ran down apartment while Juan Lin works in a club as a bartender. Xing Xiao was left in the apartment by herself most of the time, went to school and took care of the laundry, food, and cleaning. Juan Lin would sometimes come home drunk or angry and smells like cigarettes but either way, she becomes violent. A little mistake will send Xing Xiao flying and a new bruise.

Xing Xiao befriended the owner of the apartment. She happily chats with him outside. It then led to the old man coming to their apartment to visit. As time past with him, it became a bit unusual and uncomfortable. The old man would ask for physical contact and give Xing Xiao a little pocket money in exchange. Though it was uncomfortable Xing Xiao complied for the money. Xing Xiao would sneakily put the money in Juan Lin's purse or pockets. It went on till she turned ten. She cried when she came into understanding what the old man was doing. She tried to avoid him but he threatened that she and her mother could end up on the streets.

One day the old man was in his routine of coming over to "chat". Out of nowhere he becomes more aggressive. At the same time, the door burst open Juan Lin came into view and was faced with Xing Xiao lying underneath the old man. The old man rushed out, knocking Juan Lin out of the way.

Xing Xiao was speechless from the sight of her mother and cried. Juan Lin was so angry that she grabbed Xing Xiao by the hair and dragged her out of the apartment screaming "SLUT". Xing Xiao did not even have a chance to cry and could only whimper as she was hit.

A university student that was also renting an apartment next to theirs just so happen to come home and happens to come by and heard the commotion. Fortunately because of Juan Lin's histeria she neglected to close the door. The student was shocked to find a woman beating a child bloody by their doorway. This sent him to scramble for his phone to call the authorities. Juan Lin, blinded by anger, didn't notice the student. She stopped hitting Xing Xiao and got up and went deeper into the apartment. The child seem to be unconscious in the floor. He approaches the child attempting to drag her out. However, before he could manage to slip his hand under the child's knee Juan Lin returned with knife in hand.

It was at that time a police officer was close by and got an alert. When he got at the top of the stairs the student was glued to the floor and peed his pants, a woman was cutting the child's hair. When he saw the woman's eyes he too felt scared. Her eyes were unfocused and had no remorse.

The officer met eyes with the woman. She started yelling at the bloody and bruised child who woke up again from the pain, "YOU SLUT!!! YOU DARE CALL THE POLICE ON ME!!!"

Xing Xiao found support in the railing and tried to get up only to meet with her mother brandishing the knife, slashing her in the abdomen. The police pounced at Juan Lin slamming her hand in the ground to let go of the knife.

He put all his weight on Juan Lin and grabbed the radio in his waist. "I am currently in the location. Please send support and a paramedic!!!" he screams. His gaze landed on the little girl sprawled in the ground, heaving. If the paramedics came any later the child might die.

It didn't take long for the paramedics and assistance came. Juan Lin was taken to the station and would be jailed for attempted murder for 20 years. Xing Xiao's wound was not deep but left a noticeable scar. Xing Xiao was left with her father and older sister, Xing Zi.

They lived together until she turned thirteen. Her father left her in the orphanage only a year till she'd eventually be too old to be adopted. But who would want a gloomy child? Instead of hoping for adoption she put extra effort on working as a helper in the orphanage.

It was until one day on her way to school, she found a middle-aged man with torn up clothes laying in an ally, beaten up. Xing Xiao was not bothered at first but eventually, before she got too far, she turned around to ask the man his circumstance. It turned out the man was being pursued and was robbed. She had second thoughts of helping him out in case he was actually part of the mafia and thought of calling the authorities but the man begged not to and promised that he will repay her ten folds if she helps him. She did not believe he could repay her but he pitied him and so she agreed.

The man wrote down his name a number to call from a close payphone since he couldn't do it himself and he was robbed penniless. The one that answered was a crying woman. Xing Xiao only needed to mention his name and the woman asked her questions like "where is he?"and "is he alright?". In a monotonous voice Xing Xiao explained the mans condition and how he is scaring children passing by. Afterwards she returned to the alley and the man was shocked, even started crying. He thanked her to no end. He didn't think the child would actually do as he says. He understood that he is in no position to demand help from a child since he looked suspicious. He was far from help and even the police can't be trusted with his safety.

A moment later four men in black suits came rushing. The three never left the mans side and one is hovering over her asking her personal information. She did not let out even a tiny squeak and ran home. A week later the orphanage brought a happy news that she was getting adopted.

It was then she found out that the man she saved was none other than the leader of the Ye enterprise. Mrs. Ye was more than happy to welcome her to the family since she and Mr. Ye was having trouble having children. Mrs. Ye also felt that she owes Xing Xiao a life debt for saving her husband. They changed Xing Xiao name to Ye Xiao and named her their first daughter, the first miss of the Ye family. Later on Mrs. Ye was blessed with a son but still unknowingly held Xing Xiao's hand wherever she goes and Mr. Ye follows behind them.
