Titanic

Part 3

Rose sits next to Jack on a small bench after the shock that had just happened. She sat with her head on his shoulder and his arm was around her and his head on top of hers.

"Jack." Rose said in a soft quiet voice. "yeah?" he replies.

"will you come to dinner with me tomorrow?" she asked. "I don't think any of your family would appreciate that Rose, you know that!"

Rose buried into him more "I don't ever want to go back Jack. I don't like it there." 

"what do yo mean?"

"I mean they treat me like i'm made of glass and that i might break if they touch me or say the wrong thing. If i'm not being treated like that i'm being slapped by my own shitty fiance who I don't even want to marry! and i'm breaking there Jack! i'm falling apart" she says as she sobs.

Jack lifts her head gently so she faces his face, "what? your being forced to marry a man who hurts you?" Rose nods her head. "Why? Who is making you marry him and why?" he asks

"my mother. she wants me to marry Caledon because when my father left us a few years back, he left us 1 million dollars and my mother is beginning to run out and wants me to marry a rich man so she can keep her wealth..."

Jack pulls her closer and hugs her, "I'm so sorry you're going through that!" 

"At least i've got you! what time is it?" asks Rose. Jack looks at his watch " just after 2:30am." Rose sits up and puts her shoes back on, "oh god! Cal has probably sent Lovejoy after me!"

"Who?" asks Jack as he watches Rose fix her dress and pins her hair back up. "Cal brought a private investigator or ex cop with him to 'keep an eye on things' aka me" she says as she stood up. 

"strange man. come on, i'll walk you back."says Jack as he stands up. "You don't have to." Jack looks at her and smiles. "what if... you don't go back tonight and we go somewhere we can have fun?" Rose looks at him and raises her eyebrow and then smiles, "sure Mr Dawson."

he laughs then begins to walk with Rose by his side. As they walk past first class she stops and removes her shoes to avoid making noise, "good call Rose!" they continue walking, as they do Rose slips her hand into his. He looks down at her and smiles and she looks up and smiled as she presses her chin against his arm before turning to look where she was going. 

as they continued to walk they hear footsteps behind them, they quicken their pace and so does the feet behind them. Rose continues to look forward as does Jack but the side glance at each other and laugh a little.

"Stop right there Miss DeWitt Bukater! you've been caught, and don't think i won't be telling Mr Hockley!" shouts a man with a harsh voice. Rose and Jack stop walking and they turn around still holding hands.

"Mr Lovejoy, can i help you?" asks Rose in a very sarcastically polite voice. "Rose--" he was interupted but Rose, "Miss DeWitt Bukater!" he looks at her then rolls his eyes before continuing, "Miss DeWitt Bukater, you are supposed to be with your fiance asleep! instead, he is sitting worried in your room and your out here with another man holding hands!  How would he feel about that?!" 

"okay Mr Lovejoy, you clearly don't know your place in my life! you have zero control over me sir. neither does Mr Hockley frankly" says Rose as Jack stands silently and waits for Rose to finish. 

"Mr Hockley does have control over you! he is your soon to be husband!"

Just at that moment Cal walks over to the three of them, "well, well, well... what do we have here?" he says as he looks at Roses hand intertwined with Jacks, Rose and Jack both noticed he was looking but neither of them let go.

"Mr Hockley, glad you could join us!" says Mr Lovejoy with a huge grin across his face.

"Rose... explain yourself to me!..." Cal waits for Rose to answer him but instead she stares him in the eye while clutching Jacks hand. Jack could tell Rose was scared by the way she clutched his hand, he wasn't quite sure what exactly it was that she was scared of but he knew she was scared. 

"ANSWER ME!" shouted Cal. Rose jumped and closed her eyes as he shouted at her, "HOW DARE YOU SNEAK AWAY FROM DINNER AFTER HAVING A TANTRUM IN THE ROOM! THEN NOT COME BACK TO THE ROOM! I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO COME AND FIND MY FIANCE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!!" Cal walks up to Rose and gets very close to her face, "you will have a lot more respect for me now Rose! because we are getting married whether you like it or not!" he says then slaps her face for the second time in a day. This time he hit her a lot harder which made her drop the pair of shoes she was holding and loose her balance. 

as she fell Jack grabbed her shoulders and looks at her face, "Rose! are you okay?!" he says as he checks her face. "Now who might you be? huh? who is this peasant walking around with MY FIANCE?!" Cal asks in a very angry way.

Jack walks closer to Cal. "Jack! Jack don't!" Rose said from behind. "I'm Jack, the guy who saved your fiance from falling off the back of this ship!! you act like you care so dearly for her yet i didn't see you there when she was grabbing on to me for dear life because you and all your filthy rich people don't let her live a life and try to manipulate and control her! I didn't see you running up to her when you seen her just now when she didn't come home, she could've been dead yet you walk up like nothing has happened and shout and HIT her!!! what kind of human being are you?!" Jack says, as close as he could get to Cal. 

"How dare you question me! and how dare you make things up about MY fiance falling off the back of this boat!! that clearly never happened!" 

"actually, it's a ship not a boat and you can ask your fiance what happened but i assure you, she did!" 

as Jack turns around and begins to walk back over to Rose he felt a strong hand on his shoulder pulling him back around then the other hand in the shape of a fist hit his nose with very strong force. when Jack looks in front of him he sees Cal waving his hand like punching him hurt him more than it hurt Jack. Jack began to walk up to cal with his right hand in a very tight fist. 

"JACK!" shouts Rose as she stands up and runs after him, Jack grabbed Cal and punched his face 6 times before Rose pulled him off. "What do you see in him Rose? Jack or Jason whatever his name is!" Rose walks closer to Cal, "You are a disgrace to your entire family and me!" says Rose through gritted teeth, "And Mr Hockley, i won't be needing this anymore!" she says as she slipped the silver diamond off of her finger before throwing it at him. Cal catches the ring before looking up at Rose and saying, "You had a bright future ahead of you with me! You're really going to waste it just to be his whore?!" she says pointing at Jack. Cal's face was a mess, there were several places with blood dripping and other places were bruised. "I'd rather be his whore than your wife!" shouts Rose before turning around and grabbing Jack hand, pulling him along with her.
