2: Oh, you're here too?

Damien.

It's 8:30AM, time for me to head to work.

I can't seem to get Ericka out my head still, and I think it's for a reason. Maybe there's a chance that I might run into her today...

Before I knew it, I arrived at the DEFY building. As I was walking towards the entrance, I didn't see Shayne's car. Huh, maybe he stopped at Starbucks or something...

I made it up to Smosh Games' room, and all of them were talking rather loudly. I sat at my desk and turned my chair towards them. "What's all the ruckus about?" I asked.

"You didn't hear? We're getting a new member today!" Mari told me excitedly.

"Oh, really? That's awesome!"

Just then, Matt Raub came into the room. "Alright guys, it's time to introduce the new crew member..." He gestured towards the door, and...Oh my God. "Please give a warm welcome to Ericka Bozeman. On camera, you will call her by her nickname; Boze."

I'm speechless, She noticed me and her eye widened. "Hi, my name is Mari," She was the first one to introduce herself. Everyone else did the same, and that left me as the last one.

I stood up and walked to her with my hand out, "Um...hi, I-I'm Damien."

"Nice to meet you," She went along with it, shaking my hand and smiling. I could feel everyone staring at us.

....

A few hours later, we just finished making a few new videos with Ericka, now everyone is deciding where we're gonna go to get lunch.

While all of them are distracted with that, I need to talk to Ericka.

I walked over to her, "Hey, can we talk for a second?" I asked.

"Uh, sure."

We walked out of the room. "Why didn't you tell me that THIS was your new job!?"

She sighed, "Because I didn't want to embarrass myself...but I guess both of us are nerds," She laughed.

I did too, "Yeah...um, can we agree on something?"

"Okay...?"

"We CANNOT tell ANYBODY that we have met before...I feel like if they knew, they would never let us hear the end of it, ya know?"

"Yeah, totally! I won't tell anyone."

"Okay, good. That's all I wanted, and...I'm glad that you're here," I slightly blushed. I hope that it wasn't noticeable.

"Thank you. I'm glad I'm here too, now that I know you're here," She smiled.

The rest of the Smosh Games crew walked out of the room and headed towards the elevator. "We're going to Taco Bell for lunch, guys, come with us!" Mari told us. We shrugged and followed them.

As we were walking, I saw Shayne walking towards the squad room. I ran in front of him, which made him jump back. "Shayne, do you remember that girl I met last night?"

"Uh, y-yeah?" He said, still a bit shaken up.

"She's a part of the Smosh Games crew now, and I need you to NOT tell ANYONE that we knew each other before this, okay?" I said fast.

"Um....yeah, whatever..." He shrugged, walking past me. I sighed out of relief and caught back up with the others.

....

It's almost the end of the work day now, everyone is relaxing, some people even fell asleep because of how long this work day was.

Everyone was asleep expect Boze. She was staring out into the busy city streets longingly...you could tell that she was thinking deep about something, and I wish I knew what it was. It probably isn't me.

I don't think I'll ever know why I fell in love with her so quickly...it just happened.

Matt peeked his head in the room and gave us the okay to leave for the day, and we walked out the building together. After, Ericka and I said our goodbyes to them as they went to their separate cars.

I turned to her, "Well, how was your first day of work?"

"It was awesome! This job is probably one of the greatest I've ever had."

"That's awesome! I guess I'll...see you tomorrow, then?"

"Yup! Bye, Damien!"

"Bye, Ericka!"

I walked to my car and got in, sighing. Today was a surprisingly great day. Oh, I also failed to mention that we spent our entire lunch break talking, and it reminded me SO much of last night.

I think I'm gonna go insane...

....

Shayne decided to come over my place for a little while, and I was telling him about the whole Ericka situation.

"Wow, you are really into this girl, aren't you?"

"You know what's crazy? I haven't fell in love with any other woman this quick, that's how I know that it's somehow meant to be."

"Maybe it is...you just have to give it time, man."

"Yeah, that's true."

"Alright, I'm getting pretty sleepy, so I think I'm gonna head home now," He said, headed towards the door.

"Okay, see you tomorrow!"

"Bye!" He said before walking out.

I turned off all the lights and walked into my bedroom, falling back in my bed. Today was very tiring, but still interesting at the same time.

I randomly decided to go follow Ericka on Instagram and I ended up practically stalking her. As I was scrolling, I saw that the same man was constantly in her photos, and even in her most recent one...she was...kissing him on the cheek. I clicked on it and read the caption.

Oh...she...she has a...boyfriend. That's totally cool with me. I then went to my Twitter feed to see that she just tweeted a few minutes ago...

date night with the best! happy one-year anniversary, babe.

Oh, and they've been together for a year...why didn't she mention this to me at all? It doesn't matter, because I TOTALLY don't care at all.

Who am I kidding? I'm completely heartbroken. But none of them will know that. And I won't show that.

OH NO! Poor Damien's dreams have been crushed to pieces. How will we be able to interact with her now that he knows this? Will it ever be the same?

Or will things take a turn for the better?
