"He was my best friend once"

"What?"

He sits on a bench and starts "I was an orphan. His dad's sister adopted me. Our whole family lived together.. I mean his family. We both became best friends in a very less time. His maternal aunt lived in our neighbourhood and she had a daughter. Ashmith loves his sister very much.. He was the only child to his parents, so he treated his cousin as his own sibling. Even I became very attached to Shreya. Everything was going well.. But suddenly one accident changed everything, his mom, my parents and our grandparents died in an accident. His father couldn't bare this fact and got a heart attack, doctors informed us he is very weak and he can't live for long. So his dad decided to transfer the property to our names, he gave 50% to each of us handing over his company to Ashmith. His dad passed away later and Ashmith used to work and work to keep him busy, that hardwork developed the company and gave him fame.. He forgot all relations including me. His sister was very hurt with him as he was unable to spend his time with her like before, she became more close to me and we fell in love. Ashmith got to know about this and he became furious. He threw me out snatching away my whole property, he made me an orphan again. I roamed like idiot on roads for many months to earn my food. Luckily I somehow managed to survive doing a small job and then started a business. " he ends with tears in his eyes.

" You know, I and Shreya really loved each other. And Ashmith.. You don't know how much I respected and loved him, but.. He never accepted me as his family "he holds his head

" I never knew Mr. Pride is so bad. I thought he just shows attitude to people, but he doesn't care even about his family..? How can someone be so heartless?? " she says

" I don't think I should share this with anyone. It creates a bad image of Ashmith.. I'm sorry. Please forget what I just said, he is a good man. Don't know how I ended up sharing this with you, when I never uttered a word to anyone" he hits forehead

"You need to share your problems with people.. That reduces your stress and pain. You don't worry we'll teach him a lesson" she tells looking distantly
He smirks seeing her angry face.

"Why didn't you approach him with law, you could get your property back" she said looking at him

"You think it's that easy to win over Ashmith? He has contacts with many big people and my legal documents would not matter to him anyway" he shrugs
She nods her head.

"Saasha, you are not interested in business?"
She is confused
"I mean, I never saw you going to your company.. You stay back at home"

She laughs "My company? We don't have any company."

"Then the one merging with Vikram's company?" he is shocked

"oh that! That's my aunts. You know Amar right.. He is the one handling the company" she smiles

"So you don't have one?"

"Nope! My dad is a government employee" she shrugs

He closes his eyes and hits his forehead without her notice "I'm a fool.. I thought she is so rich and I could settle If I married her. I checked everything about Ashmith and landed on her without checking her background" he thinks. "Let it be. However she is trapped in my game, now I'll use her to get money from Ashmith. If she is not rich, the guy who loves her has plenty of money" he mutters smirking.

"Did you say something?" she raises her eyebrow

"hmm... Yeah. You need to go home. It's late" He shrugs and leave
Saasha is baffled at the sudden change in him, but she rubbishes it going back.
