Dying

Voices. That's all she heard. Voices screaming in her ears. She means they probably weren't screaming, but it sounded like it. She just want them all to shut up.

"Artemis, your gonna be okay."

She snorted at that. To be honest, she couldn't actually remember what the hell was wrong with her.

They kept rolling the bed she was on like a roller coaster down the hallways. All she could feel was a pounding headache from the lights and the sounds everywhere, and the full pain in her stomach.

"What's going on?" She asked.

"Artemis, I need you to breathe, ok, just breathe." She recognized the voice as Wally, and was he...crying? Oh she was so going to never let that go.

"I am breathing Baywatch." She said.

He chuckled at that and wiped the tears from his eyes. "Wally, what's going on?"

She felt weaker by the moment.  "You uh...your dying Artemis..." He sniffled.

"How?" Her face turned serious.

"You uh...you got stabbed..." He recomposed himself as they wheeled her bed to a stop in the medical room.

She'd never seen these doctors here before, so she must be hurt, hurt  bad if they got random people to help her. Probably some type of prestigious doctor, which means Bats and Flash couldn't figure out how to help.

"And why can't they fix it?" She asked, feeling the sting catching up to her.

"Poison. There was ....poison on the blade...it's..." he broke down. "It's killing you Artemis."

She frowned at that. It didn't feel like it was killing her. Although the dull pain was soon becoming a bit of a throb. And she was beginning to be tired.

"There gonna fix it though...they said they would..."

"Wally it's fi—" she coughed, hard, it didn't stop. All it did was get worse, until a sharp pain in her lungs brought tears in her eyes.

She couldn't stop, if she did, she couldn't breath. Her body shook with each one, and when they finally stopped, she cried.

Wally started crying again, this time uncontrollable sobs. She wished he didn't though,  she felt she needed to comfort him, but she didn't think she could because she needed comfort.

The next feeling was fear. The doctors voices were more panicked, more quick, saying things she didn't understand, rushing her into a room. She was scared, more then she'd ever been.

After that was pain, her head throbbed, hard. Then her side, were she thinks the wound is. Then her calves and she just can't deal with all of it.

Then she can't hear. Everything gos blank. She can see what's going on, but all she does is cry, it's too much pain, too much everything. The sobs are uncontrollable and she just wants someone who's calm to help her calm down, but Wally's an emotional wreck and she doesn't know where everyone was.

Then one of the doctors holds her hand, she thinks she's telling her it's alright. Artemis tried to breath more casually, but she can't, the doctor frowns, and she can see Wally in the corner, not bearing to look.

Her next feeling is anger. Dammit he should bear to look. She needed him right now, more then ever, and all he did was cry. Did he not think she wanted to cry, she was the one on the freaking operating table, fearing for her life, going through pain she'd never felt before.

The next feeling was waves of pain. Her whole body throbbed, and her eyes began to close against the ringing noise. Then all she could here was Wally yelling her name at the top of his lungs over and over again.

Then, blank.
