I walk into a brightly lit room with mirrors for walls. I look at myself in the mirror and my mouth forms into a small smile. I look damn good.
"Wanna stop staring at your self and get in the chair," a woman's voice says behind me.
I turn around and see a woman with rich chocolate coloured skin and short straight black hair with highlights. She had gorgeous tattoos all over her arms and multiple piercings. I was intrigued by the tattoos specifically. I have always wanted to get a few tattoos. I take in more of her appearance. She is dressed from head to toe in black leather, shes obviously Dauntless. I hear the woman clear her throat impatiently so I walk over to the bright white chair and sit down in it.
"Ok, my name is Rion I will be administering your test today..." She glances down at my file and sees my name. "Natasha Wellington... oh I can't wait to see whats going to go down inside your head," she smirks.
I roll my eyes "can we just get on with my test already Rion, since of course, you have nothing better to do" I reply snarkily.
Rion smirks at my remark "who knew little miss perfect had a sharp tongue. Anyways I'm going to inject this into your arm that will allow me to see what you're doing in the sim."
I take a deep breath, I am deathly afraid of needles.
Rion finishes the injection and hands me a vial of blue liquid. "Drink this serum and your test will begin."
I sigh and down the serum like a shot of tequila. Immediately I feel my eyes closing. I open my eyes a few seconds later in a room with every wall, including the ceiling and floor filled with mirrors.
"What the fuck!" I exclaim. This is completely different than from what my parents told me about.
There was no bread and no gun. It was just an empty room with 5 white pedestals in the center. I walked closer to the pedestals my curiosity nagging me. Centered on each pedestal was a singular flower with a different flower on each one. On one there was a lily, on another was an iris, then a rose, a daisy, and a carnation. I immediately picked up the rose. It has been my favorite flower since I was a child. I always dreamed of getting a tattoo of a rose behind my ear. I have always been drawn to roses, the deep red was infatuating, and the sharp thorns contrasted with the delicacy of the rose spectacularly. As soon as I picked up the rose the pedestals along with the remaining flowers disappeared. I felt a sharp pick on my finger and gasped. The thorn of the rose pricked my skin and drew a little blood. Suddenly I heard a growl behind me. I turned around slowly expecting to see dogs, instead, I found a singular large lion staring at me dead in the eyes. My heartbeat sped up and the grip on my rose tightened. The lion dropped into a hunting position as the thorns on the rose dug deeper into my skin drawing even more blood.
"Fuck it, if I'm going to die I'm going to die fighting." I said strongly to myself.
The lion lunged at me and I dived off to the side. I landed with a thud and heard a loud snap. The hard fall caused the heel of my boot to snap off. I shrieked in anger and grabbed the broken off heel off of the floor.
"THOSE WERE $5,000 LOUBOUTIN'S YOU ASSHOLE!" I screamed as I ran towards the lion with the heel in hand.
The lion roared and lunged at me as I ran towards him when he was a few inches in front of me I slammed my fist down on the lion and plunged the heel in towards his heart. The lion froze and his lifeless body fell to the ground. I felt tears pool in my eyes as I looked down at the dead lion.
"I'm sorry friend, but it had to be done," I whispered hushedly as I used my fingers to close his eyes.
I felt a rush of cold air flood my body and I woke up in reality. My eyes stretched wide open and I sat up in the chair in shock.
"Get up out of the chair, your test is over." Rion snapped rudely. "Congratulations, your results are in."
I stood up and breathed in a deep shallow breath. "What is my result?" I asked nervously.
Rion smirked at me with a humourus gleam in her eyes. "Dauntless."
