The silence was absolutely deafening. The sound of the city below replacing the sound of crickets. The girl, Y/N, apparently was dead. Well she definitely looked dead.
"Is this a joke, Damian?" Kent asked," because if it isn't, this is so cool." He said, a little breathless.
Damian huffed, "No, this isn't a joke Kent. Y/N is dead and Grayson refuses to acknowledge that she is haunting us all"
"Of course he's in denial man. She's probably been dead for years!" Kent's voice raised an octave. He wasn't sure about this but it's awesome, that's for sure.
Kent glanced at Y/N, who was very distracted with putting her hand through a wall at the moment.
"Kent, this is serious Grayson thinks I have lost my mind. And I clearly haven't-"
"Dami are you asking for my help?" Kent snorted
"Yes, now-"
"Oh my God," he laughed "This is great! The spectacular Damian Wayne, asking me, a half breed alien, for help."
"What do you need his help with?" Y/N says. Her childish voice echos around them as if they were in a cave, it sent a shiver down both boy's spines.
Damian gains his bearings first.
"I need his help to find your body" he says, his eyes narrowed with newly found determination.
"I need his help do bring you back from the dead" The silence of the Gotham night life returns. And Kent is visibly stunned.
"Back from the dead? Like lazarus pit back from the dead? Or zombie back from the dead?"
Damian takes a breath "The lazarus pit. With or without the help of anyone else. You are the only one... I-im asking for your help" he spits out like it's the most disgusting thing to ever say to someone
Kent looks nervous "I-i'll help. But if my dad finds out he'll make sure I never see the light of day again." Damian scoffs "You think Father will not do the same to me? Are you helping or not"
John Kent bites his lip "Fine"
They shake on it, their childish hope ignoring the fact that every hero on the earth will look for them once they are identified as missing children.
