I drove myself or the gas station to get some ice cream and saw Amelie had just started her shift. "I didn't know you worked here." I said really loud. "Hush. I don't want everyone to know I cook nasty burritos for old people." "They aren't nasty. Just from a gas station." I shrugged and she saw all the ice cream I was getting. "Did your guy break up with you?" She said scanning the stuff and looking surprised. "No I I've just been keeping my distance. I ate all of our ice cream, too." I said putting the ice cream in my arms. "Well, Bye y/n! See you in art!" "Definitely!" I said back waving her off. I went home and my mom was at the table waiting for me. "Hi?" I said. Her face looked really serious and she didn't lose eye contact. "Sit down y/n you're in big trouble." She said moving her magazines from my spot. "What did I do?" I said getting confused since I don't think I did anything wrong. "Your Dad said he saw you out at Timothee's house doing it." "We don't have se-" "let me finish." She snapped. "With closer inspection, he saw her in the windows of his house and it was another girl." She said her face softening. "That's why you're in trouble." She said. "Was it Alexa? Did he say who it was?" "No, it was just a girl." I took a breath and just told her I'd kill him with kindness.

I got on my phone that was on my bed and I got several texts from Andrew and Timothee.

We met up at the sushi place which felt weird now. I know what he's done, he's just like any other guy. We sat down and Timothee tried to lean on me. I scooted down everytime. "Are you okay?" He said as I stared into space picturing him kissing a pig. "Just fine, I'm just hungry." "Okay. I mean I'm good too." He laughed. I did a fake laugh and texted my dad.

We finished eating and we got in MY car and turned on my music. I drove to the school and we sat on the swings on the elementary playground. "You've been avoiding me lately. I wanna know what's up." He asked looking at me, I was looking at the trees behind the swings. "I haven't, it's just because we hang out all the time." "That's what couples kinda do." He said.
He was falling into my plan
I sat there and he kept staring. I remembered us singing in the car and I found it harder to say it. His hair, his family. "I guess so." I said. I felt the pressure on my shoulders double. "You know." I said. "I don't want to be a couple anymore." I spat out. He looked oblivious. "I don't understand." He said in his low, groggy, voice.
"My dad saw a girl in your room and my mom told me after school." "I see." Was all he said. "That was my mom." I looked at him disgusted. "You fuck your mom?" I said. "No! We weren't doing that, we were-" I cut him off and I walked away towards my car. He looks back and I thought he would stay there. "She always walked naked around the house, Shes kind of like a nudist. You've seen her family they're all hippies." He said nervously laughing.

We kissed and erased the kids chalk drawings on the playground concrete.
