Chapter 4

Switching it Up

We are all standing around outside of the carriage now waiting for the crowd in front of us to

make it into the school before we even attempt to move up the steps.

"Pansy I wanted to say earlier that I'm also sorry for the things I did and said about you." Harry

then looks at Draco and the rest of the Slytherins standing with us as he smiles. " I'm sorry to

all of you as well. I was no better than any of you and yet I thought I was because I'm in

Gryffindor and your all in a house that I associated with only bad wizards. I don't think that way

anymore. I know now of some amazing Slytherins. Regulus Black who although became a

Death Eater sacrificed himself to steal a Horcrux from Voldemort. Professor Snape, we all

know what he did. Professor Slughorn, while kind of aggravating he's still a good man. Draco's

aunt Andromeda Tonks. One of the most famous and most respected wizards of all time,

Merlin. Plus some of you helped in the battle as well as your parents. So I think we SHOULD

be friends."

Ron shuffles his feet and looks slightly ashamed. "Well I've been no better than Harry, I haved

let what my family and others have told me make my decision to dislike Slytherins over the

years but I don't think like the eleven year old that I once was all of the time now... So I'm sorry

too."

This is not what I expected to come back to this year. I mean I knew things have changed but I

figured we would all just be nice enough to say hi to one another while passing in the hall. Yet

here we are standing around apologizing and saying we want to be friends. Well I haven't

apologized yet but I suppose I should. While others are piping in and saying sorry I do as well.

So it's settled we are all friends now. They crowd in front has moved up and we can now all

walk into the great hall. As our large group of Slytherins, Gryffindors, and a Ravenclaw step

through I realize all of the stares we are getting. It's called letting bygones be bygones. House

Unity people!!! We all say our good byes and make it to our house tables.

Soon enough McGonagall leads all of the first years in. They of course are in a perfect straight

line but their eyes are all big and their mouths are hanging open. Some are shouting wow and

cool. Our Headmistress gets them all gathered in front and then heads up to the podium and

starts the sorting. When she's through she motions her hands for the clapping to die down.

"I know you are all likely hungry but there are a few things I want to say first. I would like to

introduce the Head Girl Hermione Granger and the Head Boy Draco Malfoy." She motions for
