"Connor are you ready yet?" Hank stands at the door impatiently. He waits for Connor to come out.

After getting no response, he decides to check on Connor. He knocks on the door and opens it slowly.

"Connor, the fuck are you doing? At this rate, we'll both be fired and I have a dog to feed."

Hank walks in to see Connor staring at a picture on the wall. It's of Hank and a beautiful woman in a wedding dress. They look so happy together.

"She was your wife..." Connor faces Hank with a sad expression.

Hank turns back around, avoiding eye-contact with the picture and Connor.

"Ah, that was a long time ago. Don't mind that. And don't feel sorry for me either...it makes me feel like a bitch. She and my son are gone and there's nothing I can do about it."

"Hank, I-"

"Connor let's go."

Connor looks to the floor and starts to fidget.

"I just want you to be happy, Hank."

They both go silent for a moment.

"Happy? What the hell has gotten into you?"

"I...I don't know. It could be another error or some emotion I'm not aware of, but I just want to spend every moment trying to make you happy." Connor shuts his eyes tightly and blushes a deep blue.

Hank smirks.

"Connor...for the love of shit, let's go."

"R-right. My apologies."

In the car, no one says a word. Connor continuously glances at Hank.

After a long, silent drive to work, Hank and Connor head into their workplace. Inside, it is busy and crowded with people hurrying to get things done. A woman runs into a man and drops everything she's carrying. They begin arguing about whose fault it is.

"Why is everyone working so hard today? Shit, It's going to throw off my slacking." Hank folds his arms and looks at Connor.

"Many of our agents are deceased, so there's more work to do for everyone. Especially since we were granted equal rights, human-on-android crimes are now illegal."

"...Sounds about right."

Gavin sees Hank with Connor and walks over to them. He looks at Connor, then at Hank and smiles.

"So, you're still lugging this piece of junk around, is that right?"  He laughs smugly.

"I suggest you shut your goddamn mouth before I put you in the ground." Hank looks Gavin directly in the eyes.

Connor put his hand on Hank's shoulder to reassure him. His touch lingered as Connor slid his hand down his back.

"Hank, it's okay. Ignore him and after work, we can go home and forget he exis-"

Gavin's eyes widened.

"Wait...you live with this thing? God, that's rich! You went and took in your homeless android! So how long have you two lovebirds been dating?"

Hank grabs Gavin by his collar and shoves him back.

"Hank, stop. Come on, we have work to do." Connor grabs Hank's arms and tries to guide him to his desk.

Hank resists and threatens Gavin. His voice is deep and intimidating.

"I've put up with your shit for too long. If you continue to harass either me or Connor, I'll have you killed, do you understand me? Mind your own goddamn business."

Connor notices how much Hank cares about him. He smiles a little.

"I'm not scared of you. But whatever, I'll just have you fired. Enjoy your mechanical boyfriend." Gavin straightens his tie and walks off.

Hank heads to his desk while Connor trails behind. Hank mumbles under his breath.

"I'm so fucking sick of that fucker and his shit."

"Hank..."

He turns around to see Connor looking to the floor with his hands behind his back, like an innocent child.

"...Thank you."

"Yeah, it's nothing." Hank shrugs and sits at his desk.

Connor does the same. Hank begins to work, but Connor can't concentrate.

I want to be close to him. Really close. Why do I feel this way? What is this emotion?

Connor slides his chair over to Hank's desk. He cuddles up next to him.

"Uh, Connor?" Hank stops working and looks down at Connor snuggling him like a puppy.

Connor comes to a sudden realization of what he's doing. His cheeks turn bright blue and he immediately gets up. He slowly puts his chair back under his desk and walks away, embarrassed.

"Connor? What?" Hank, also blushing a little, watches Connor walk away in shock. He's unable to bring himself to chase after him.

(Author's note)
