The rain lashed across rooftops and slammed against the concrete. The skies were dark and the sun was barely visible. It should have been a sunny day today but Athena was content that it wasn't. She would often prefer the thick, cloudy dark sky to the scorching heat of the sun and its brilliant blue and cloudless sky.
"Moved to Texas but the weather is still like the Philippines." she mumbled to herself. She continued to pour herself over a book, like the bookworm that she was. The sound of her phone vibrating distracted her long enough to see that she received a notification from Twitter. It was from a friend of hers.

Athena smiled and put her phone in her pocket after replying to Jaehyun. The last time she saw him was about a year ago. Her cousin was wed to Jaehyun's older brother. He and Athena were both tasked to sing a song together for the newly weds and had to practice on the day of the wedding. By some miracle, they didn't mess up and did well. They had laughed about the situation and ended up exchanging contact information. They've kept in touch and became good friends in the process.
