The land of Euquity seemed like a world those on Earth would read about in their novels of fantasy. It didn't have a princess being saved from a dragon atop a tower, but it did have castles and creatures of myth. Practices most don't see in a modern era. Sadly, it was practically impossible for someone on Earth to travel to this alternate universe. But it's wasn't as impossible for those in Euquity.
It was always a story that most citizens had long forgotten. The history books don't mention the mistakes of past monarchs, seeing as they were and are a higher power. God chose them, as they say. And you never question the ones God chose.
All records of what happened always said the same things, but the truth was hidden by anyone who knew it. Whether they were at fault or not. It was a deal to protect the dangers of reality. Anyone who knew what really happened, which was an increasingly small amount of people, concealed it because they were afraid of the consequences that would come to themselves and the world.
Most of those who found the ancient scrolls that revealed the true events either couldn't read the dying language scribbled on the yellowed parchment, or burnt the papers themselves. But few people knew the true origin of their thriving kingdoms. And if they did know, they certainly kept it within their own head. Mostly because they were afraid of losing theirs.
If anyone was found with ownership of these books, or having any knowledge whatsoever as to what happened, would either be imprisoned for life or killed. Most preferred the latter. In the dungeons, you didn't only slave away day and night, you were starved and abused. In different areas, the punishment varied, but the result was the same. You'd wish you were dead. So of the two options, death seemed humane.
According to most known legends, the Kingdom of Raves, the Kingdom of Erong, and the Kingdom of Salekath were once at peace. To put it more accurately, they were allies. Strong allies.
From the beginning of times, when the kingdoms were originally founded, to the rough patches, when famine or infection cursed their lands, they stayed as linked as a chain. Together, they made a powerful empire most referred to as "The Trinity."
Few refused to believe The Trinity was the most intimidating and formidable empire on Euquity. But it's undeniable that that was the truth. But in this world, the truth was always a questionable thing. It was never easy and straightforward. It was mixed with lies and embellishment. If every kingdom in Euquity had one thing in common, it was their talented silver tongues.
Apart, they were a months travel around the Northern Ocean. From there, lumber or expenditures were traded at various markets along the borders. Ships often sailed across the seas for such reasons. Trade meant prosperity, and prosperity means food in the mouths of every citizen. What one kingdom had- the other most likely needed.
The triangular trade between the kingdoms lasted long enough for seven generations to come and go through each throne. It would be rocky at times, but the worst that happened throughout those years was a Salekath ship being lost at sea. And if that was the worst of their problems, then they had it good.
Their founders go as far back as their beliefs will let them go. God sent profits to the world and his followers made them a king. Other superpowers wishing to deal with The Trinity who didn't have a firm belief in the Christ above, were isolated from all connections.
When evidence of evolution becoming evident and spreading to every part of the world, the strength of Erong's and Salekath's faith grew weak. While their faith remained, they opened their-selves to new beliefs and welcomed those foreign thoughts with open arms. Raves' system remained the same, and they began to grow weary of the individual ideas spreading across the lands.
