There was something about returning to her world that gave her a weird feeling. First, she wasn't entirely conceived of what she went through. The crystal was still in her hands, but once she found herself in the well again, she pondered if she had hit her head.
Gee, I hope not. I wanna rub this in Flynn's face.
But entering the well was a weird thing. She couldn't exactly see the transition of moving one world to another. After a few attempts of jumping up and down, she got very disoriented. Her eyes would flash white a few times and next thing she knew, she was in Euquity- then back to Earth. Wonder what I look like going back a forth.
She climbed back up the well, making sure to not fall down this time. The vine that had snapped originally was laying exactly where she had left it on the dirty ground. Back on the surface, the air smelt less fresh and muskier than she remembered it.
Is it odd that the first thing she did while beginning her trek back to her car was check her phone? The sight of at least two bars made her heart swim with joy. She didn't expect too many texts, just a missed call from her father and Candice asking about plans.
I think I'm going to say yes to Flynn.
Bea stopped. Candice admitting to those words was weirder than the entire ordeal she just went through. Saying yes? To a Hudson? Maybe her world is upside down.
don't
The bubbles appeared on her screen immediately, even though Candice sent it a little under two hours ago. Yep, Candice is the type of person to either respond instantly or not at all. That's strange. To think, Bea was only in another reality for all of two hours.
The text stream continued.
I had a feeling you'd say that
Look, it's Harry Potter and Flynn is paying
For once I'm going to listen to Mary
For some reason, Bea felt more okay with it. She shook her head. They're not the same person. Definitely not.
in the name of all that's good, don't
A broken clock is right twice a day
And you're too late, I already said I'd go
ur gonna regret it
I'm sure I will
Bea rolled her eyes. Actually, her eyes physically can't go far enough in the back of her head to stress her disappointment in her friend. She's going to have to kill Mary when she sees her next.
When her mind went back to what Mary said about a double-date with Price, she involuntarily gagged. She hopes with all odds it won't come to that.
By the end of their lovely conversation, Bea was settled in her car staring at her screen in disbelief. Some people.
Though the radio was playing lightly in the background, the sheer noise of her thoughts made her hardly notice. Oh good god, what if it goes well and they actually date? Would she have to put up with Flynn more than she already does? That's a rather impossible task.
