Chapter 2: Two Trollhunters Isn't Enough

Toby entered his house with noises coming from the kitchen, "Toby Pie, is that you?!" he heard his Nana yelling for him, "Yeah, Nana. It's me," Toby answered as he headed for the kitchen. When he entered he saw his Nana cooking dinner while he saw ARRRGGHH! and Dictatious sitting by the table with the TV on as ARRRGGHH! carefully snap the ends of some beans with Dictatious helping. Well, sort of. Every time he snapped a bean or think he snapped a bean he would either snap the whole thing in half twice or only snap part of it and then miss the bowl. Leaving the vegetable on the floor. Or at least that was his assumption as he saw the small pile of beans on the floor Toby was surprised to see him helping or at least attempt to help. He figured that Dictatious would just sit there, eat all day while he watched, or should he say listen, to Nana's Soap Operas while he subtlety make a snide comment about it and making a comment about being blind but here he is trying to help Nana and ARRRGGHH! make dinner. Toby sat there watching him for a moment, processing what he was seeing as Dictatious felt the small vegetable for the ends with is his large fingers, really concentrating. Toby couldn't help but smile at the sight. Maybe there was some good in Dictatious after all. Then again, you really can't redeem yourself with snapping beans after working for an evil warlord for a thousand years, but it was a small start. Dictatious suddenly waved his hand around with a bean clasped in it with a slight distress look on his face, "ARRRGGHH!, where's the bowl?" he whispered as he leans towards ARRRGGHH! making him stop for a moment to grab Dictatious's wrist gently and helped guide him to the bowl's location by placing his hand on the lip of the bowl. "Ah, thank you," he said to ARRRGGHH! as he dropped the bean in the bowl with a smile forming on his face. "No problem," ARRRGGHH! replied as he continued to snap the beans. Toby had to admit, it was nice that his Nana knows about Trolls and what he and his friends were up to because well, moments like this. It just gave some sense of normalcy. "It's so nice to have an extra pair of hands to help out around here. Thank you, boys," Nana said as she came by the table to take the bowl of beans once they were finished snapping them and pour them into a boiling pot full of water, "It won't take long for these beans to cook. Once they're done we can eat," she said as she covered the pot with the lid. She then turned to the door and saw Toby standing there, "Oh, there you are, Toby Pie," his Nana greeted him. ARRRGGHH! turned around and smile at his friend while Dictatious turned his head to the direction to the door or at least he thinks is the door. "Hey, Nana," he greeted her with a smile on his face, "What's up, Wingman?" he asked ARRRGGHH! as he fist bump the giant troll, "Snapped beans," he answered his friend with a smile on his face. Toby then looked over to Dictatious, "Hey, Dictatious," he greeted the blind troll as he waved at him. Dictatious looked surprised for a moment before he waved awkwardly. "You boys go on and get washed up. Dinner will be ready soon." Nana told them as she went turned to check the food. With that said, ARRRGGHH! got up from his spot at the table and held out his arm for Dictatious to help guide him to the bathroom. Toby held the door for the trolls as they both walked out the kitchen and up the stairs to the bathroom with Toby following close behind as ARRRGGHH! carefully helped Dictatious navigate the stairs. After a few moments, the boys returned downstairs to take their places at the dinner table. Toby helped his Nana get the food on table as she passed everyone a plate, silverware, and cups. Nana also taken the courtesy to pour everyone a glass of tea. Everyone sat there in silence for a few moments as they ate their dinner. "So, you up for patrol tonight, Wingman?" Toby asked ARRRGGHH!. ARRRGGHH! nodded at his friend, "Oh, you two are going out tonight? I better get a bag ready for you two after we eat," Nana piped in, "Don't want you two to go out tonight unprepared," she added as she got up from her seat to gather up empty plates and placing them in the sink. "But first, who wants a slice of pie?" she asked the group with Dictatious rising his hand first with a smile on his face. After dessert, Toby and ARRRGGHH! both got ready to go out, "I packed you both some snacks, a first aid kit, and it's supposed to get a little chilly tonight, so I packed a jacket just in case you get cold, Toby," she said as she handed a bag to Toby. He smiled appreciate as he took the bag from her, "Thanks, Nana," Toby said to her as he strapped the bag onto his back, "You two be careful tonight and try not to stay out so late like last time," Nana said to them, "We won't," Toby said to her as him and ARRRGGHH! turned for the door, "Have fun tonight you two!" she yelled out the door as Toby and ARRRGGHH left through the backyard. Toby turned back and waved to his Nana as ARRRGGHH! climbed over the fence, turned around and lifted Toby over and then sitting him on the ground. The two than headed out on patrol.
