Chapter 5: Frist Meeting

Author's Note: Hey guys! So, before you guys start reading I just want to give a quick thank you to Mad_Be_Green for you reading my story and giving me the suggestion to add Steve's and Eli's reaction to finding that Jim is now half troll because I forgot the fact they don't know that Jim is half troll now. So, thank you for reminding me of that. I hope you like how I did their reactions. I wrote out kind of quickly, so hopefully I've captured what their reactions maybe in the show. I also wanted to thank those who had voted on my story so far. I know there's only a few votes but still, it makes my day a little bit knowing that some of you are enjoying what I've written so far.  Anyway, here's Chapter 5, enjoy!

"So, let me get this straight: you, Jim, Claire, Blinky and ARRRGGHHH! here went to find Merlin's tomb to find this staff known as the "Staff of Avalon", so you guys can get your hands on it before Gunmar, the troll warlord that tried to take over the world a few weeks ago because if he got his hands on it, he could use the staff to release an evil witch called Morgana, who was also Merlin's student, so she can bring darkness to the world known as the Eternal Night, allowing the trolls to roam at during the day to do whatever their heart's desire. However, you failed to get the staff but instead you found Merlin himself and woke him up from his centuries old slumber to help stop Gunmar and get his staff back but instead he let Gunmar release Morgana so he can defeat her himself but he failed, then after Lake defeated Gunmar, you guys fought off Morgana but then her henchmen Angor Rot betrayed her and help you guys fight her but he got killed in the process leaving Claire to make a portal with her "portal staff" to send Morgana to a place known as the "Shadow Realm" which she succeeded after you destroyed the staff but thanks to all that's happened, it left the trolls without this thing known as a "heartstone" which something they need to survive or at least thrive. Forcing all the trolls along with Lake, Nuenz, and Merlin to travel to New Jersey to find a new one because Merlin heard that there was one there. Leaving you and Big Guy here, to protect Arcadia on your own?" Steve said as he recalled the events of Toby's story to see if he understood everything. Toby stood there with his eyes wide open for a moment before answering him, "That's...a rough premise of what happened but accurate," Toby commented, confirming with Steve that he understood what's been told to him and Eli. Steve had look of disbelief as he took in a breath as he rub the back of his head as he processed the information that was given to him. Eli stood there, seemingly taking this information better than Steve, as he watched his friend reaction of the information before turning to Toby, "That's...quite a story. Is there anything else we should know about?" he asked him, cautiously. When Toby heard this, his eyes went wide as well, "Yeah...," he started as he rubbed the back of his head before he blurted out the next piece of information, "Jim's a troll a now," Toby blurted out with no hesitation. Eli and Steve stood there, trying to process of what Toby just said. "Sorry, I-I don't think I heard you right. I'm pretty sure that I thought you just said that Lake is a troll now," Steve said as he blinked at Toby, owlishly while Eli's jaw dropped. "I did," Toby confirmed, "Well, half troll," he added to clarified. "You see, Merlin made this weird potion that allowed Jim to become half Troll and half Human. It's kind of hard to explain. I-it's one of those things where you have to be there to somewhat understand," Toby explained as Steve's jaw also dropped, not sure what else to say and leaving him in an owlish stupor. However, Eli had a huge smile on his face, "That is awesome! The best guy in the world just became the most awesome guy ever! Oh man, I wish I could've seen his new troll form or better yet, I wish could've met Merlin! He sounds so great!" Eli exclaimed in excitement. Toby smiled at him with an amused look on his face, "Actually, Merlin's kind of a jerk. Great, yes but a jerk," Toby commented. "So, that explains why Lake left but why did Nuenz leave with him? Why didn't she just stay here and help protect Arcadia?" Steve asked Toby, confused as to Claire's reasoning in leaving, "Well, Claire's staff was destroyed during the battle because it needed to be destroyed in order to keep Morgana sealed in the Shadow Realm, leaving her without a weapon. So, she went with Jim to find a heartstone," Toby explained to him. Steve looked down on him condescendingly, "So, instead of taking you, Lake took Nuenz instead?" he asked him, smugly. Toby looked at him confused as to why he said that, "I guess..." Toby answered, unsure what to say. Steve then grinned smugly as he crossed his arms over his chest, "Interesting," Steve commented as he looked up and down Toby while he just stared at him with a weirded out look on his face, "Right...." he just said, not sure what to say or what Steve was getting that. "Look, let's head back to my house and talk before we get attack again by killer robots," Toby said to them, letting go of what Steve said and moving forward. "Agreed," Eli said to him as Steve nodded in agreement and started to head back to Toby's house.
