The feeling of warm jelly being spread around my stomach was somewhat nostalgic. It brought back feelings of Cole, and the happiness we get to experience again.
"Okay let's just try and find the baby" The tech laugh moving the wand until she heard his heartbeat. "Theres the little bean" Taylor holding my hand as we watch the screen in front of us. " That's our baby" He squeezed my hand a smile plastered on my face.
"The baby looks good for 12 weeks" She printed the pictures before handing me a paper towel to wipe the jelly off.
"Since everything looks good we will see you back here in 16 weeks." Taylor grabbed my kissing me quickly.
"We're having a baby" I couldn't help but laugh. Any time he thinks about it he tells me he can't believe it. We check out scheduling an appointment in 4 weeks for possible gender reveal and to check up on the pregnancy.
"One more appointment then we can go home" I sighed rubbing my bump. "This one shouldn't be as long as yours" Taylor laughed. I pushed him slightly mocking him.
"We can get food on the way" We thought that was a good plan since we have been running around all day.
" Then we need to start moving the guestroom stuff to the garage to make room for the baby" He was right. We wanted to be ready this time, and have everything we could need. He stopped by Braum's just to get us some food, and headed to his appointment.
The waiting room was pretty empty, but they were taking forever to call him back. "Why couldn't they give me my results over the phone" He scoffed scrolling through his phone. "Because that's unprofessional" I tried to hold back my laugh since it was quiet.
"Mr. Johnson" Taylor stood up taking my hand. The nurse led us back to a room telling us the doctor would be right in.
"Taylor" His voice chimed as he opened the door. They shook hands before Taylor introduced me.
"So am I anemic?" Taylor laughed, but the doctors face fell. "Taylor I'm sorry to tell you this, but the blood test came back you have abnormal levels of white blood cells and abnormally low red blood cells. Which usually indicated Leukemia. We might need to do an MRI to check for tumors or a petscan-"
Everything after the word Leukemia didn't register. He has cancer. That would explain him being so tired lately, and the bruises he's developing from playing soccer. Even his recent lack of appetite.
Taylor's hand reached for mine squeezing it bring me back to our reality.
"Whats the treatment options" The doctor looked down at his paperwork closing it. " Chemo or radiation. When can do blood transfusions and maybe in the future a bone marrow transplant." The doctor pulled of a ton of papers handing the over to him. "This is some information you might want to read it. I'll write you a prescription for the pain in your leg."
He has cancer. We are having a baby, and he has cancer. It's like every time something good is happening something bad has to happen to even it out.
I don't remember anything after that. Taylor and I were standing at the car, and my door was open. "Baby you have to get in" His voice was soft as he placed his hand on the small of my back.
"Baby" He wrapped his arms around me, and I just fell into him. This couldn't be happening we're finally happy.
"It's going to be okay. I promise" He kissed the top of my head helping me into the car.
I couldn't even speak let alone cry. He was wearing a brave face like we didn't just get life altering news. He just backed out of the spot, and headed to the house.
He even stopped at the store to grab cases of beer. As he pulled into the driveway our friends already there waiting for us.
"What's going on" I looked at him like he was crazy. "I need help getting the guest room cleaned out, and I need to fix some things around the house up" I couldn't believe him. We get the worst news of our life and he's having a get together.
We got out of the car, and I grabbed his hand.
"Taylor don't we need to -" He stopped me with a kiss. " I have to have this house ready for you and the baby. We have so much to do, and a wedding to plan. I'm not going anywhere today. You wanted to pick a date for the wedding so go sit with Shay and plan it. I'll be right here if you need anything baby"
He placed a sweet kiss to my lips before running to get the beer from the trunk. He bumped elbows with Brad as he helped him carry it inside. I watched Brad's face as he turned back to me our eyes locking.
"I have to tell him"
